Then Jesus said, "Now go and constantly do the same."
from Luke 10:37 AMP
Jesus was the ultimate intercessor.
One who stood in the gap.
One who stood in the place of another.
One who took the consequence deserved by another, upon Himself.
One who cried out to His Father:
Forgive them, for they don't know what they are doing!
One who comforted, as if He was the one who was hurting.
One who healed, as if He was the one who was sick.
One who gave, as if He was the one in need.
And so today, I ask us. I challenge us.
To take up the mantle. The mantle of intercession.
To stand in the gap.
To plead the case of another.
To not stand in judgement over, but instead to kneel in place of.
To bring healing and hope to a world very much in need.
To bring love and reconciliation to individuals, families, cities and nations.
To bring the very heart, the very nature of God Himself into every area, every circumstance, every place we go.
Jesus is the ultimate intercessor.
And He is our example.
Will we go and do the same?
[If] My people, who are called by My Name, humble themselves, and pray and seek (crave, require as a necessity) My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear [them] from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14 AMP
He was wounded for our transgressions, He was crushed for our wickedness [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing]; The punishment [required] for our well- being fell on Him, and by His stripes (wounds) we are healed. He Himself bore and took away the sin of many, and interceded [with the Father] for the transgressors. from Isaiah 53 AMP
When [Jesus] saw the crowds, He was deeply moved with compassion for them. from Matthew 9:36 ISV
Then Jesus said, "Now go and constantly do the same."
