Are YOU Prepared? 5/4/16
Proverbs 30:25 (KJV)
25 The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer;
Was it not good ole Benjamin Franklin who said:
"
IF YOU FAIL TO PLAN, YOU ARE PLANNING TO FAIL!"
Proverbs 6:6-8 (KJV)
6 Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:
7 Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,
8 Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.
A life lived successfully requires a plan/VISION:
Proverbs 29:18 (KJV)
18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
In order to create, obtain or acquire something, one first has to "see" it and then take the necessary steps of FAITH!!!
Hebrews 11:6 (KJV)
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
It is IMPOSSIBLE to steer a parked car!
In any structure the most important piece is the FOUNDATION.
Many years ago, (too many!?), how well do I remember the wise words of Bishop Harry Mushegan:
"
Boys, the most important piece of the Church is the FOUNDATION of PRAYER!"
Now, by definition, a FOUNDATION is rarely seen as it is buried deep in the earth-the deeper the better.
Jesus said:

28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?
Father Abraham OBTAINED the PROMISE "AFTER he had patiently ENDURED!"
Hebrews 6:15 (KJV)
15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.
Hebrews 6:10-14 (KJV)
10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
11 And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:
12 That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
13 For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,
14 Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.
He and WE also can only ENDURE if WE "build OUR house upon a rock!"
Matthew 7:24 (KJV)
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
A dear friend and kindly soul inquired of me just today, "When will these troubles and trial ever end???"
I smiled and quietly replied, "NEVER! Not in this life!!!!"

12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:
SO the QUESTION we all must answer is, "AM I PREPARED?"
A wise father spoke these wise words to his son many years ago.
He instructed his son to always have a three month cushion of paid bills-mortgage, rent, utilities, food, etc.
It may not be possible for any and/or all of us to do this, but I took those words to MY heart!
Ecclesiastes 12:11 (KJV)
11 The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.
If you do not know what a GOAD is, here is the definition:
noun

a stick with a pointed or electrically charged end, for driving cattle, oxen, etc.; prod.
2.
anything that pricks or wounds like such a stick.
3.
something that encourages, urges, or drives; a stimulus.
verb (used with object)
4.
to prick or drive with, or as if with, a goad; prod; incite.
As I ONCE preached to my physical Church-
