God Don't Make No Junk! 8/30/15

Where did the summer go??????
A WHOLE LOT is being spoken, often LOUDLY, about PURPOSE!
LIVES of every color and creed are demanding their voices be heard.
For those in the minority crying out to be listened to, I say "good for you!"
YES, YOUR LIVES MATTER-ALL lives matter, and this IS a subject that needs to be aired and discussed!
I spent MY Sabbath yesterday with little Amanda-as usual.
I try to take one day a week and just relax.
And YES, I understand that SATURDAY is the OFFICIAL Sabbath.
Romans 14:5-6 (KJV)
5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
On MY one day a week, I "try" to NOT exercise, sit with Amanda and watch whatever she and I can enjoy together, and EAT a sinful diet.
So I sat yesterday and watched Christian flicks all day-sometimes it has been a MARATHON!
MOUNTAIN MAN MARATHON or endless episodes of Grey's Anatomy.
We began by watching W.W.J.D., number 2, followed by JOHNNY , and finally RING THE BELL.
A phrase spoken in movie number two stuck with me:
"
GOD DON'T MAKE NO JUNK!"

Many, too many, YEARS ago my former Pastor and employer MADE me attend a breakfast for the Christian artist Carman.
I had had ENOUGH of dealing with "famous" Christian SUPER STARS and their egotistical ways.
My former Church often brought in the TOP Christian singers and preachers and I was the designated one to pick them up from the airport and chauffeur them around.
The breakfast was held on a Saturday-my Sabbath/day off!
I DID NOT want to go-especially on my DAY OFF and did not really care for his music style.
Carman was in town with the pledge "to fill up the Georgia Dome" which sat 70,000 people.
I considered that a prideful boast!
I was "PROUD" of my "humility," much like this fellow:

12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
So off I went, to a breakfast I did NOT want to attend.
And as FATE/LUCK would have it, I was seated at the same breakfast table with the "famous" Carman- THE man who "boasted" he would fill the Georgia Dome the very next day.
Seated next to him was his "traveling secretary," a BEAUTIFUL young and single woman!!??
HMMP! FIGURES!!!
I thought to my self, "not only is this mere man filled with pride but he is an ADULTERER as well!!"
All went well until Carman was introduced and began to speak-how WELL do I remember his words:
"
I do not understand WHY God is using ME!!??
I do not understand and/or comprehend WHY there will be 70,000 plus people tomorrow to hear ME sing????
This is my time! GOD has ORDAINED me-AT THIS POINT IN TIME-I DON'T KNOW WHY?
Perhaps the next day/week/month/year NOBODY will know my name and/or remember me?
But GOD has chosen me for His time/this time!
Then he began to sing a simple chorus- "AND THE PRESENCE OF THE LORD IS IN THIS PLACE!"
AND IT WAS!!!!
SUDDENLY/OVERWHELMINGLY IT WAS ME STANDING ON MY FEET, HANDS IN THE AIR- WORSHIPING GOD!!!
From the INSTANT that mere man began to sing, the SPIRIT OF GOD fell on all seated!
Today, I can "proudly" proclaim that God shut MY mouth!!!
Ya see, "GOD DON'T MAKE NO JUNK!!!!"

TODAY, YOU ARE "FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE!"
TODAY, MARVEL AND REJOICE IN THIS FACT!!!
