Dear Girl Scout Family
Going places with Girl Scouts.
There's one more week of the Fall Product Sale. Here's hoping your special girls are enjoying running their own business! As a staff member, it's such a delight to watch the girls grow and learn over the years.
I've known Rachel since she was in kindergarten. I was surprised when she stopped in to take my order how TALL she'd gotten over the past year! She smiled politely and nodded at my "you're so tall" comment and handed me the order card.
"I'll take Chocolate Covered Raisins to tuck in with my mom's gift, Gummie Berries for my kids - yes, they need their own, and Mint Penguins to keep on hand- just in case..." I told her as I worked to get my green ink in the boxes.
Before she left, I asked Rachel what her troop was going to do with their proceeds this year. I loved hearing that with my support Rachel is earning her way on one of Lakes and Pines' educational trips, likely Chicago.
It's so fantastic to be a part of helping women develop business and life skills as part of the product sales programs ... and to see them doing their part to "earn their way" toward programming. It just makes me feel good all over.
A special thank you to our Product Sales volunteers who provide the support to make this program amazing.
P.s. If your Girl Scout is interested in going places with Girl Scouts, check out our 2013-14 program guide
Inspire girls around the nation!
This just in! QSP invites girls to be part of their Girl Scouts' Be a Reader poster which will be shared around the nation. If you know a girl who would like to be considered for participation, complete the application and send to Vickie Strobel at the Girl Scouts' Waite Park office by Friday, October 18. Sorry, no late submissions can be accepted.
We are all different, but sometimes our differences can make us feel like we don't fit in or don't m
atter, especially when we are bullied because of those differences. Join the Million Misfit Sock March to inspire millions to embrace their inner misfit and wear their misfit socks on Friday, October 25.
Tell your friends, family, classroom, church, and community and take the pledge to participate. Post your pictures on your wall and share freely!

Put Girl Scout books in the hands of every girl!
Leadership Journey books and the Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting convey the "Girl Scout Leadership Experience."
- Girls love the Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting! It's written for girls - not adults. It's colorful and fun.
- Girls deserve their own books. Ownership and benefit from the program increase when girls have their own books.
- Girls can earn badges and awards on their own or with their families by following directions from the books. Girls learn to lead by doing!
- Books are memory-keepers with spaces for girls to journal, scrapbook, log their own ideas and accomplishments. They become genuine keepsakes.
- Girls learn Girl Scout traditions and history. They know they belong to a big sisterhood of girls and women who are changing the world!
- A girl develops a strong, personal connection to Girl Scouting through her own books.
