CELEBRATE PRIDE WITH
Our 11th Annual Going to Shul with Pride Service!
MNJCC, 750 Spadina Avenue, 3rd Floor
We will celebrate at a
maariv (evening) service and end with a Havdallah (end of Shabbat) ceremony. Afterwards, please join us for a desserts reception down the hall in Room 318, where we can all shmooze and socialize together.
Bring your friends, your bubbes and zaidyes, and all the rest of your mishpoocha! Childcare available, but children are always welcome into our services with you.
This year, our service will include a talk by and discussion with a young student and member of her Jewish day school's gay/straight alliance, presenting the situation there for LGBTQ students.
All welcome, including allies!

Our chazzan Daniela with children at Rosh Hashana |
L'dor va'dor - From generation to generation: Bestowing knowledge of Jewish life and
thought is a guiding principle of our tradition.
Rabbi Goldberg and the shul's education committee are pleased and excited to announce an enhancement of our existing children's and youth programs and two new ones, with a Shabbat morning junior congregation AND a weekly supplemental school project.
Our members have been asking for more education, Shir Libeynu-style, and now we have developed them and hired four incredibly savvy young teachers to deliver. PLEASE DO YOUR BEST TO SPREAD THE WORD!
IT TAKES A VILLAGE (OR A COMMUNITY) TO MAKE THIS A SUCCESS.

Heart to Heart is looking for host families!
Since Heart to Heart's early days in Toronto, Congregation Shir Libeynu has been supporting this program, which brings a group of 20 Israeli teenagers to Canada every summer, half of whom identify as Palestinian Israeli, and half as Jewish Israeli. The group spends two and a half weeks living together at Camp Shomria, an overnight summer camp near Ottawa, and the program's aim is to cultivate a generation of leaders who will both recognize the importance of creating a truly shared society and possess the skills they need to make that a reality. The teens stay with host families in Toronto for five days while they tour the city.
Heart to Heart is looking for additional host families during the teens' stay in Toronto, July 23-27th. For detailed information about being a host family, please visit the
Heart to Heart site. To volunteer as a host family, please complete this
form. Thank you for your continued support!
