Local Solutions to Water Supply
The Gold Ridge RCD is currently seeking agricultural landowners within the
Estero Americano & Salmon Creek Watersheds who are interested in water security/storage. Drought conditions are stressful on our lands, families and finances. Gold Ridge RCD currently has grant funds available to assist landowners in developing engineered designs for rainwater catchment, off-channel water storage, and water conservation projects. We're also developing grant funding proposals for future projects. We are interested in hearing your needs.
California FarmLink and CCOF's farm financial management webinar will get you started (or keep you going) on the right financial track. By the end of the webinar, you will understand:
The basics of credit scores and how to improve or establish credit history
Different types of agricultural loans, and how a loan might work for you
Cash flow management to manage financial risk
How to use farm balance sheets and income statements to manage debt
The benefits of diversification
Business structures and their implications for debt and building equity
From University of California Cooperative Extension
University of California and UC Cooperative Extension is excited to release a new initiative,
UC Rangelands.
The mission of UC Rangelands is to develop and advance science-based knowledge to diverse management and policy stakeholders to promote agricultural and environmental sustainability on California's grazing lands.
As part of this initiative, UCCE is building a new one-stop-shop for rangeland research information and resources online. At this new web-based information center, you will find updates on current projects by the UC Rangelands team, as well as highlights of future and past research and outreach activities.
You can learn more about the UC Rangelands team and get links to all UCCE Livestock and Natural Resources advisors by visiting
California Farmers and Ranchers Survey on Conservation and Sustainability Practices
From California Association of RCDs
Farmers have the chance to share their views on conservation and sustainability practices and programs with a survey from the state association of RCDs.
The results will help California develop policies and programs the agriculture industry supports, and improve the business environment for farming and ranching in California. Responses will also help RCDs apply for grant funding to continue to support farmers with technical assistance.
