Last week we wrote about how
Google provides a free tool to see if your website is optimized for mobile viewing. This week we want to focus on online ad buying.
The only real way to track your online advertising and your social media tools is to monitor conversions or clicks that your ads or posts generate. An online ad can seem like it is a good buy but you can never really know if you do not check its conversions.
Internet advertising can be an affordable way to generate website traffic. But to make sure this is true you MUST have an analytical tracking tool for your website. Google analytics is a good one (and it's free).
Example: Google Analytics provides a list of the websites that have referred traffic to your own website over any time period (day, week, month, year etc.) In this example a wedding website (presumably from an ad buy) has provided 209 visitors, of which 85% have not visited the website before. A good result. The website t.co represents traffic from twitter. This user has sent 206 visitors to their website from twitter (a good result as well) and 14% of them are new.
Do your homework: An online advertiser offers you an ad for $50 for a year. This seems low cost but it might only bring two clicks to your website ($25 per click). You might be far better to spend $500 with another online ad provider who brings 500 clicks to your website ($1 per click).
Spend some time this week to review the analytical data on your website!
