Good Earth Plants Is Hiring
Employee Spotlight:
 Kimberly Braddy

Kimberly Braddy is Good Earth Plant Company's newest employee, hired in February 2015. She says she loves the Good Earth Plants mission and is looking forward to learning more and working with "such a great bunch people."

Kimberly previously worked in the grocery industry and says, "It is a breath of fresh air to finally do something new." What isn't new: working with her friend and now co-worker Alexa McEntarffer, who Kimberly has known for 20 years.

Kimberly is married with three lovely children, a San Diego County native and graduate of Helix High School. She lived in the beautiful green mountains of North Carolina for 10 years before returning to her hometown four years ago. Kimberly spends her spare time in the desert of Ocotillo Wells, taking care of her five Nubian Goats, and her dog.

Our greatest reward at Good Earth Plants is making our clients happy. We received a wonderful note from our new client Wilan Labs. Linda Crawford told our Operations Manager Debbie Hopkins:

"Thank you so much! I so appreciate you. You guys really set the bar for exceeding customer expectations and customer service excellence; sincerely spoken. It is no wonder why your business is so successful and you get repeat customers year in and year out."

Letter from the President: Bringing You The Best
The second Good Earth Plant Company newsletter of the year means it is already Spring, and we are springing into action!

As you receive this, Philippe Dasnabedian and I have just returned from our trade show booth at the annual LA Expo for Design and Development in Long Beach. It's our third trip, and each year the show gets bigger and better. We showed off two very different living walls this year. What we  enjoy most about the show is interacting with design professionals and seeing and hearing what is new to the industry so we can bring it back and offer it to you, our clients.

The next project on the horizon is an appearance at the 2015 Green Roofs and Walls of the World Virtual Summit. You will get to see our video based webinar on "Living Walls: Lessons From the Field." We have learned so much working with clients in San Diego and across the United States about best practices for installing and maintaining living walls, and we are eager to share what we've learned. Whatever we can do to encourage the use of living walls in the urban environment is time well spent.

Are you planning to attend the upcoming "Art Alive" fundraiser April 24-26 for the San Diego Museum of Art? I've selected my painting for interpretation, but you'll have to attend to find out what it is. I promise it's worth it! For information about the weekend event, click here

Warmest Regards,

Jim Mumford

Featured Project: Qualcomm Expands

Good Earth Plant Company loves providing top quality plant service to telecommunications giant Qualcomm for more than eight years. During this time, Qualcomm has grown and expanded into more than 44 buildings in the San Diego area. Most of the properties located in the Sorrento Valley area.

Qualcomm realizes the many benefits of plants for employees including increased productivity and decreased absenteeism along with their aesthetic value. One of our very first living walls using repurposed "topsiders" was installed in Qualcomm's corporate headquarters. Good Earth Plants also custom designed a 250 square foot permanent botanical replica wall of mosses and succulents for one of its main dining rooms, adding a unique design to the modern facility.

In March, Good Earth Plants added greenery to two more Qualcomm buildings. Both focused on improving the main lobby of each building. The best part? As each employee passed through the lobby during installation of the plants and pots, they commented on the beautiful difference the plants made. Their positive compliments made our day! What was once a cold and plain area is now full of beautiful plants and modern decorative containers. These smart people at Qualcomm "get it!"
