Your Monthly News & Updates

After the busy holiday season, many of us have taken time to reflect on the past and look ahead to a new year full of potential and promise. 2016 was a challenging year for many families, and we pray that you and your loved ones have been spared many of the struggles we see burdening your neighbors.

Because of the generosity of friends like you, we were able to serve more than 57,000 men, women, and children last year across Upper Pinellas County! That's 17,750 families receiving a basket of food . . . nearly 2,000 children receiving toys and clothing for Christmas . . . 11,532 nights of shelter for families that have nowhere else to turn to . . . and so much more.

We could not serve so many in need without your help, and we are honored to be stewards of your kindness. As always, please feel free to contact me directly if I can ever be of service to you.

Thank you for supporting The Salvation Army!

Brewing Hope

Brewing Hope | Anthony's Story

When people come to The Salvation Army seeking emergency financial assistance, they receive an application to fill out. Inside the application is a voluntary questionnaire that includes just two questions. Our ' Brewing Hope' series will give you insight on what assistance men, women, and children in need are seeking when they come through our doors, and what it means to them to receive a hand up and a sense of hope in their time of need.

Name: Anthony

What brings you to The Salvation Army for assistance? Hard times. I lost my job, lost my wife, I can't pay all of my bills before they get shut off.

What does receiving assistance from The Salvation Army mean to you? It means the world. I'm a hardworking family man that's just going through a tough spot and reaching out for a little bit of help.
