Lopez, President CEO of The Harris County Hospital District and Herminia Palacio, MD, MPH, Health Authority for Harris County and Executive Director of Harris County Public Health and Environmental Services addressed issues in which they see the greatest need in health care, what type of health care changes need to be made within the next five years and how they improve health care within their own organizations and for their employees. El Centro de Corazón Celebrates a $25,000 Contribution from The Brown Foundation and $10,000 from Wells Fargo to Support Pediatric Psychological Trauma Program
El Centro is adding trauma-focused evidenced based practices to its cache of treatment modalities. All of El Centro's therapists will be trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), with this treatment available to patients in July 2012. TF-CBT is a treatment intervention specifically designed for children and families who have suffered severe trauma.
After this modality is implemented, additional trauma-centered, evidenced-based treatments will be incorporated across the behavioral health department, strengthening El Centro's role as provider specializing in the treatment of pediatric trauma
Generous support from The Brown Foundation and Wells Fargo demonstrates the impact and importance of partnerships in providing much-needed services for El Centro's clients and the community.
