Bear one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2 ESV
For God knew His people in advance, and He chose them to become like His Son... from Romans 8:29 NLT
Accountability.
To some, it's scary.
To others, it's a mystery.
But to those who truly understand it and embrace it, it's a gift.
A gift from God, through His people.
To grow us.
To mold us.
To shape us, more and more, into the image of His Son.
One definition of accountability is holding ourselves to account for our ability. For our beautiful potential. For the gifts and talents and godly tools God has placed in our lives.
And although we can do this, to an extent, on our own, to truly grow into all God has designed us to be, we need people around us.
People who loves us.
People who want the best for us.
God's best for us!
People see us.
And know us.
And are willing to speak truth to us when we can't see it on our own.
So today I want to encourage us to be open to input. Godly input!
Even when it feels scary.
Even when it feels uncomfortable.
Because it won't feel that way forever.
As we walk in love.
As we walk in grace.
As we walk in community.
As we walk in accountability.
We will grow.
We will change.
We will blossom into all God's created us to be.
God knew what He was doing from the very beginning. He decided from the outset to shape the lives of those who love Him along the same lines as the life of His Son. The Son stands first in the line of humanity He restored. We see the original and intended shape of our lives there in Him. After God made that decision of what His children should be like, He followed it up by calling people by name. After He called them by name, He set them on a solid basis with Himself. And then, after getting them established, He stayed with them to the end, gloriously completing what He had begun. Romans 8:29-30 MSG
