MAY 2016
OPENING STATEMENT

One of the biggest challenges I have had in my small business is finding, training and keeping good staff. We are all so very busy with our work that when we do need to add staff, it can be an overwhelming task. While I cannot help you identify the best candidate for your position, Gordon Law can help your business in the employment process. Whether it is the development or updating of an employee handbook; a review of your employment practices; a creation of a covenant not to compete agreement; or dealing with a claim that a former employee brings for violations of state or federal law, Gordon Law can provide you with the guidance and information you need.
DISCOVERY

Recently the federal government announced changes in the manner in which employees get paid, adding millions of employees to the ranks of those who are entitled to receive overtime payment for work in excess of 40 hours a week. Read our blog to see how your business is going to be impacted and how you can prepare for the enforcement of the new regulations.
IN SUMMATION

With summer approaching, I am hopeful that the change in season is productive for your business and your personal life. Although the days are longer, I would like to remind you to try to work smarter hours and not just longer hours in your business. I am privileged to have worked with some of the best business leaders in Nevada. Please consider me a resource if you need help; whether it is taxes, marketing, insurance or real estate, I can put you into the hands of the top professionals in their fields.
