November 2016
OPENING STATEMENT

Election 2016 is over. It is important that you stay aware of how the election may affect your business. Nevada's formerly ruby-red legislature just turned sapphire-blue. There may be new laws enacted in the 2017 legislature that directly or indirectly impact your organization.

It is expected that the Trump Administration will take a different view on Obama policies and regulations. You should closely monitor any and all changes to avoid surprises and put proactive internal guidelines in place.

The battle of 2016 is over. It is now time to see how policies, regulations and laws will change and how you can best navigate through those changes.
DISCOVERY

The voters of Nevada spoke on November 8, 2016 regarding the use of recreational marijuana. The potential effect of this on your business and employees could be dramatic. Please read here about the Employer's Dance with Mary Jane.

IN SUMMATION

The Nevada Legislature convenes on February 6, 2017. It is my distinct honor to serve as the Chair of the Legislative Committee of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce. In this position, I will be able to voice the concerns of the Chamber's roughly 1,300 business members to our elected officials. Please know that I take this position quite seriously, as I believe that our voices must be heard.
