So You Want to be a Federal Contractor? - Learn what you need to do to become a federal government contractor: where to register, how to certify for small business set-asides, how to find buyers for your products/services, and determine whether the federal government is the right market for you.

Growing Your Sales in Virginia - The Commonwealth of Virginia buys more than $8 billion in goods and services, including construction, each year. Find out how to tap into this market. This class involves demonstrating the eVA state procurement system, instructing businesses on where to find and respond to opportunities to sell to the Commonwealth using the eVA application, and additional related topics.     
Friday, February 3rd from 10am-12:30pm - Cost $50

Becoming WOSB Certified - This class walks you through the NEW requirements and benefits of Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB) set-asides for federal contractors; as well as the NEW process for self-certification . "So You Want to be a Government Contractor" training or familiarity with federal government contracting fundamentals is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED before taking this class.
Monday, February 13th from 10am-noon - Cost $50
 
Becoming 8(a) Certified - The SBA's 8(a) business development program was created to help small disadvantaged businesses compete in the American economy and access the federal procurement market. This training will help prepare interested businesses for application in the 8(a) program. Follow-up counseling will be available at no charge to assist any company that wishes to apply for the 8(a) program . "So You Want to be a Government Contractor" training or familiarity with federal government contracting fundamentals is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED before taking this class.  
Monday, February 20th from 10am-noon - Cost $50 
   
Doing Business as a Veteran - Are you a Veteran small business owner? Are you considering pursuing government contracts? Do you know the difference between certification and verification? This class will help you navigate the certification/verification processes and show you what it takes to turn your certification in contracts. "So You Want to be a Government Contractor" training or familiarity with federal government contracting fundamentals is STRONGLY RECOMMENDED before taking this class.

The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority presents "Procurement Academy" - a series of comprehensive workshops focused on various aspects of the procurement process. The workshops emphasize practical strategies for success and provide the essential elements you need to function effectively in today's procurement arena. 
 
The 2017 series of Procurement Academy workshops will be held once per month from January - June beginning January 25th. Workshops run from approximately 8 am to 10:30 am with registration and a networking break beginning at 7:30 am. The workshops will be held at:

Selling to Fairfax County Workshop - Vendors and contractors seeking to do business with Fairfax County are invited to attend the Selling to Fairfax County Workshop.  The workshop will provide you with information on the public bidding process,  upcoming contracting opportunities and address any questions or concerns you may have about doing business with the county.

This workshop will be offered every other month beginning on January 18th from 9-11am at the Fairfax County Government Center.
