This Sunday, November 12th, the adult forum will feature the 3rd session of the "Muslims, Christians and Jesus" DVD series.  The title of this session is "Jesus: the bridge to Muslims."  So far in this series, we have learned about Muslims and Islam and also the similarities and differences between Muslims and Christians and their beliefs.  This session accents how Jesus can be the starting point with our Muslim neighbors and a bridge to building meaningful relationships.  The adult forum takes place at 9:15AM in the 2nd floor vestry room.  The following Sunday, November 19th, will be the 4th session titled "Building bridges through relationships".  All are welcome, hope to see you there.

Mission & Service

Winter Survival kits are now available at the church. These kits are designed for those who may find survival more challenging during the winter months. You may have been approached by individuals asking for money to buy food. Experts have discovered that providing money is not advisable but instead can give one of these kits which contain non-perishable food, socks and other useful items. A list of items is available at the "blue bucket" in the church. We are still accepting donations for winter survival kits to help address these needs throughout the winter. Any donations you can provide are appreciated.

Inside Church Cleaning
Volunteer Opportunities
We will have a morning of inside church cleaning on Saturday, November 18, 2017 starting at 9 A.M. We have helped preserve or improve our many items and church areas with our past efforts. Please help dust, mop, polish and sweep various areas to beautify our church, before the holiday season. Come for an hour or whatever time you can spare. Many hands make light work! Thank you!

Boscov's will be sponsoring an Angel Tree in  the New Hartford store from Thanksgiving through December 13, 2017 for the direct benefit of the patrons we serve in our Food Pantry and the parishioners of Grace Church who are in need. All information received (recipients name, clothing need and size) will be kept confidential and must be received in the office no later than Tuesday, November 14th.  All items will be wrapped and delivered to the recipient by December 22, 2017. Thank you.
We are still in need of stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn and cranberry sauce. As always, thank you for your generosity and continued support.

United Thank Offering

The focus for 2018 United Thank Offering grants is " The Jesus Movement: Evangelism, Reconciliation and Creation Care". What does the Jesus movement mean; in our lives and in the world. How do we reconcile with each other? Do we ask the master for forgiveness and then refuse to do the same for our friends and neighbors? How do we provide Creation Care? Do we shy away from eco-justice; from conversations around climate and faith?
Get out of your comfort zone and become evangelists, reconcilers, and honor the face of God in creation. The time is now to act as true Episcopalians, and join others to make a difference in this world. Sunday, November 12th  will be our second collection for our yearly United Thank Offering collections. United Thank Offering (UTO) boxes are available at church outside the sanctuary Choir Door. They will be collected until the first Sunday in December.

Choral Evensong Video from The Cathedral of All Saints Choir of Men and Boys Choir in Albany, NY

Adam Morris who grew up here at Grace Church is a member of the All Saints cathedral Choir of Men and Boys.

Established in 1872, The Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys is the oldest continuously performing choir of its kind in the country. As the principal choir of The Cathedral of All Saints, the Choir of Men and Boys sings choral services in the Cathedral during the academic term. The choir enjoys an international reputation for musical excellence and acts as a vital link to the ancient choral traditions of England and Europe; all the while remaining distinctly American. In addition to its liturgical role, the choir is heard regularly in concert and has performed with The Albany Symphony, The Boston Symphony, and at The Tanglewood Music Festival. In recent years, the Choir has made two tours of England.
The choir is made up of trebles (boys ages 7-14 with unchanged voices) who sing the soprano line, while a dedicated group of professional men sing the alto, tenor and bass parts. Boys rehearse twice weekly during the academic term, and the gentlemen join them once each week for musical preparation. Choir members come from all parts of the Capital region, and represent a wide variety of backgrounds, faiths, and cultures. The quality of their music making, coupled with their uncommon dedication to excellence has helped make The Cathedral Choir of Men and Boys "Albany's Boy Choir" for more than 145 years.
The choristers are trained according to the standards set forth by The Royal School of Church Music. As they move through the training scheme, they earn ribbons of various colors that represent their rank in the ensemble. The boys not only work hard,  but they also play hard. Choir parents organize weekly dinners for the full choir, and the boys enjoy regular non-musical outings, giving them a chance to enjoy a lighter side of the chorister experience.
If you know a boy who likes to sing, please tell him about the choir. The choirmaster,  Woodrow Bynum, is always happy to meet with prospective choristers and their families. Auditions are held throughout the year by appointment, and no previous musical training is necessary or expected. For more information, e-mail The Director of Music or call 518.465.1342.
