It is wonderful to be back from pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Deb Papps and I will share the experience with you over the next few weeks.
Now we begin a new journey together, the season of Advent. This Sunday, we start out anew, letting the familiar story influence our faith in new ways. Advent is the time the Church sets aside for preparation, not for Christmas, but for the time when Christ comes again and the new creation is completed. We look forward to this time when justice and peace reign, and bitterness and rancor cease forever. This is the time to wait as a church with excitement, for the majesty of God. See you this Sunday as we start the journey.

Happy New Year!
Sunday is the beginning of Advent, the new year of the church. The readings for the day caution us to pay attention, stay alert, keep watch. All of this is more easily done with others, which is why the Church gathers together to wait.
At our 10:30 am service, we will bless the greens that adorn our church during this season.
At 4:00 pm, we will hear the beautiful sounds of the Parish Choir and the Choir School singing Evensong for Advent.
Come and celebrate as we prepare
for Jesus Christ to come among us!

Bowditch/Grace Church Partnership
|
Thank you to all who spent time with the students from the Bowditch School on their field trip to Grace Church. Their notes to us are posted on the bulletin board. Please take time to read them to see what an impact these small gestures on our part make to these children.
In December we have two opportunities to support the 4th graders at the Bowditch School. Please show your support for these students by attending one or both of these events. On December 12th the 2nd-4th graders put on a Winter Showcase beginning at 6:30. On December 22nd there will be a Winter concert in which some of the4th graders will participate, again beginning at 6:30. This is also the Festival of Trees.
Check your calendars and see if you can come and support these students be attending their events.

We are well on our way to our goal of 100% participation in pledges. If you have already pledged,
THANK YOU!!!
If you haven't sent in your pledge card, please do so soon.
If you have questions about pledging, please speak to a member of the Stewardship Ministry Team or to Debbie.
Everyone has a stake in the work of Grace Church; please intentionally consider your commitment.
