This Sunday

We begin the morning with Young and the Restless Chapel at 9:00 am. This month, the children and Rector engage with the story of the man in search of the pearl of great price.

At 9: 30 am, breakfast will be offered on the patio (weather permitting). All are welcome to come and break bread before the service at 10:30 am.

This Sunday, we will baptize Jaxcyn Hughes at our morning service. This service will offer us time to consider how we are radically welcomed by God and how we, in turn, radically welcome others. The Gospel for the day reminds us of the dangers of cutting off the Word of and relationship with God rather than allowing them to transform our lives. The Birthday Prayer will also be offered.

The Celtic Service will continue to meet each Sunday at 5:00 pm. Following this service, a picnic will take place on the brick patio (in inclement weather, we'll gather in the Common Room).

So as you see, we begin each Sunday breaking bread, and end it with a communal meal. As with all things with Grace, all are welcome to come.

The Abundant Life Garden Project continues at 10:30 am as well. All children are welcome to come and learn about God's work in creation, through the soil and rain, the sun and our own hands. They also tend to the garden which benefits the weekly Sunday meal program at St. Peter's, Beverly.

Join us Sunday wherever you are in your quest for meaning.

Celtic Meditation

During the month of July, our theme is  radical welcome.

Hospitality is one way we, as Christian, can emulate the radical welcome of Jesus. It is an integral part of Celtic Spirituality.

This week, parishioner Tom Lemons offers a reflection on an encounter he had with God. The music this week will come from the Hymnal 1982, the Celtic tradition and American song tradition.

Following the service,

a picnic takes place on the brick patio.

All are welcome to come to this service of healing, communion and prayer,

and to join us in the meal.

Leader of the Week
This is a new feature of Gracenotes. Over the next year, each week will introduce you to one of the leaders at Grace Church.

First up, our Senior Warden, Joanne Moar.

"I am a Certified Oncology Nurse and I work with radiation therapy patients. Not sure if it's obvious or not but I was a bit of a "hippie" in the sixties and seventies. I think Grace Church is rich in God's love. It shows in our membership and in the welcome all people feel when they enter the church. My dream for Grace Church is coming true.  We are growing and reaching into the community and sharing the love we feel here for each other with our Bowditch Kids. I'm thankful that we have found a channel for the great spirit we share."
