This is Volume 2 of the September newsletter, which we hope will keep you informed about all of the upcoming events for graduate/professional students, both on and off the BC campus.  However, beginning next month, the GSL will send one newsletter on the first Sunday of each month.  To stay current on all of the upcoming events, announcements, and other important information between newsletters, check us out on facebook  & twitter, and view events on the GSL Google Calendar!

Graduate Mentorship Program

The Boston College Graduate Mentorship Program matches Boston College graduate and professional students with Boston College undergraduate students from low income, first generation, or underrepresented backgrounds.  

 

Any graduate or professional student at Boston College is eligible to be a mentor.

Want to help a new graduate international student

It is a great opportunity for cultural exchange and only requires a one hour a week commitment. Make a difference as a Money Mentor! Receive free training in personal finance to mentor students in the basics. Meet one-on-one with a mentee to create a budget, set savings goals, read credit reports, and more. No previous financial experience needed; only a willingness to learn and patience to teach are required. Doctoral Student Support Group: Thursdays this fall 

BC doctoral students from all programs across the university are invited to have lunch and to talk about the stresses and strains of life as a doctoral student. Doctoral students will work with a facilitator to formulate issues, discuss concerns, and explore ways to address the challenges of being a doctoral student.  Possible topics are such things as marriage and relationships, time management, and student-advisor dynamics.
