January 22, 2016
Dear Readers,

2016 is off to a great start at the Chamber.

We have had three busy events already, including an excursion to Big White Ski Resort. The resort graciously hosted 200 of our guests and treated them to an afternoon of skiing and boarding in 20 cm of fresh powder yesterday! A huge thanks goes out to the team at Big White who showed off their impressive new Black Forest Lodge at an Apres Ski event. Stay tuned to our  facebook page for pictures.

We are two weeks into our search for Board Directors for the 2016-2017 term. Deadline for applications is February 8, so hurry and apply if you have an interest! For more details, click here

Finally, if you joined the Chamber in the last quarter of 2015, keep an eye out for your invitation to a new member reception, happening this February!

Regards,

The Kelowna Chamber Team

Program Extension into 1st quarter of 2016

The Canada Job Grant, funded by the Government of Canada and administered by the Province of BC,  is an innovative cost-sharing program that helps employers offset the cost of training for new or current employees by sharing the cost of employee training with BC employers.

Employers can be reimbursed up to two-thirds of the cost of training for current and future employees, to a maximum government contribution of $10,000/participant/ fiscal year (April 1 to March 31).

If you missed the opportunity to apply for the CJG last year OR if you want to apply for more training, now is your chance. Applications are being accepted for training starting on or before March 31, 2016, on a first come, first served basis
