InfographicInsights on Millennials

With 2015 census figures numbering more than 75 million, Millennials have overtaken Baby Boomers as America's largest generation. So understanding what makes them tick is important in the nonprofit fundraising arena. Some findings from research conducted by Achieve, The Case Foundation and TheMillennialImpact.com include:
  • They want (regular) updates
  • They prefer email
  • They give (and want to give more)
  • They're interested in monthly giving
  • They like matching donations
  • They want to volunteer (with peers)
  • They are willing to fundraise
  • They are (heavily) influenced by their peers
  • They have to trust the cause
SVPThere is Still Time - Grant Opportunities with SVP

Social Venture Partners Cincinnati  invites area nonprofits to apply for two grant opportunities with one combined application .

Apply to be their next investee
Investees receive a total grant of $60,000 over the course of three years and also receive the strategic contribution of SVP partners' time and expertise. The combined financial and expertise results in an average benefit to the nonprofit of three to five times greater than cash grants alone.
Apply for Fast Pitch 2017
Nonprofits get training in telling effective, inspiring stories and then compete via a 3-minute pitch.

Grant guidelines and the combined application is available on the Social Venture Partners website. Applications are due by Monday, August 15.
SWGiveCampSouthwest Ohio GiveCamp is accepting applications for a weekend of free software development for nonprofits

Open opportunity without many agencies applying - this is your chance! GiveCamp is a nationwide effort that brings together a community of volunteers to donate their time and talents to build the technical resources and capacity of local non-profit organizations. In its first five years the Southwest Ohio GiveCamp has worked on 64 non-profit software projects. The projects have ranged from simple website rebuilds to iPhone and Android applications. It is estimated that the projects created at Give Camp would typically cost each non-profit between $5,000 and $10,000. The efficiencies the solutions create - often reducing the paperwork and staff time needed to complete processes - means Give Camp creates value beyond the market cost of the projects themselves.

The event this year will be held October 21-23 at the Miami University Voice of America Learning Center in West Chester, Ohio. Additional information can be found at the GiveCamp website

The 2016 Southwest Ohio GiveCamp is now accepting non-profit applications. The initial application is a simple form. Initial applications will be reviewed by a member of their non-profit committee to make sure it is within the scope and mission of the Southwest Ohio GiveCamp. When this review has been completed, you will be notified whether or not you have qualified for the second phase of the application process.

SocialMediaGive Input For Our Upcoming Social Media Seminar
Whether or not you are planning to attend our September Social Media Quickstarter seminar, we'd like to get your input on what information you need to better utilize social media. Do you know how to schedule future posts? How to tag other people and pages? Want information on how to connect posts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram? How to read a Google Analytics report for your website? What is a hashtag and how to use them? Or what other area of social media would you like information on?
Social media is a wide topic and not everything can be covered in a 3 hour session, so giving information to our presenter will help tailor the presentation to the needs of our nonprofits. Let us hear from you with your needs! Email [email protected] with your suggestions and comments.
