Wildfire Community Preparedness Day

Wildfire Community Preparedness Day
May 5, 2018
10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Northeast Teller Fire Station - 1010 Evergreen Heights Drive, Woodland Park

As we approach high wildfire danger season, the Front Range is already experiencing more than usual red flag warning days and actual fires. Residents can take action steps to increase the safety of their homes and property and encourage their neighbors and communities to join them in this effort. They can find information and the inspiration they need to organize and accomplish wildfire risk reduction projects in their community.

Woodland Park is teaming up with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), State Farm, Northeast Teller County (NETCO) Fire Department, the Colorado State Forest Service and FirewiseUSA to hold an information event on May 5, 2018, to help communities prepare for and work together to reduce their risk of wildfire damage.

You may be aware that there will also be a training event on the same day at the Ute Pass Elementary School in Cascade from 8:30 am - 12:30 pm, making coverage of both events practical for your crew.

For more information contact:
Bonnie Sumner - Majestic Park Firewise USA Chairperson- 719.686.1465
Northeast Teller County Fire Department - 719.687.1866
