Chamber Seeking Vendors for Fall Business Expo

The Greater Woodland Park Chamber of Commerce is again hosting its semiannual Business Expo to be held 5-7 pm Thursday, November 1.  Businesses interested in securing booth space may download the application HERE or call Scott leas at 719.687.9885.

This event regularly attracts more than 600 people from the area, making it a great venue to market to the local community.  The event is free to attend and open to the public.  Vendor spaces are available on a first come - first served basis.

Night Sky Program
 
Friday, September 28, Night Sky Program, 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm. Meet at the visitor center.
 
Elk Hikes (September and October)
 
Saturday September 29 and Sunday 30, 4:45 pm - 7:15 pm. Join a ranger for a RESERVATION ONLY evening hike, to listen to the magical sounds of elk bugling. These 1-2 mile, off-trail hikes and can be in rugged terrain at times. Children must be at least 10 years old to attend. For reservations, please call 719.748.3253 ext. 202.
 
October dates for elk hikes include: October 5 -7 and 13 -14.
 
There are no additional fees for any park programs beyond the daily entrance fee of $7 per adult (15 and younger are free). For additional information, please call 719.748.3253 or visit our website.

Public Lands Fee Free Day at Florissant Fossil Beds
 
National Park Service. Enjoy your public lands for free at Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument on National Public Lands Day 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Saturday, September 22.  The Monument has 15 miles of hiking trails, a museum and film, and self-guided trails. Kids can earn a Junior Ranger Badge by completing a Junior Ranger gamebook available at the visitor center desk.
 
Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument is open year round. During September, the Monument is open 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.

Symphony Guild to Host Appreciation Concert
Concert of Appreciate
The Ute Pass Symphony Guild is hosting a Concert of Appreciation featuring the Colorado Springs Philharmonic Brass Quintet 2:00 - 6:00 pm Sunday, September 30 at Memorial Park. 

The Cari Dell Trio will preform prior to the Philharmonic. 

Attendees are encourages to bring chairs.  Bring a picnic dinner.  The Symphony Guild Boosters will be serving food.

Now is the Time to Plan for Lighter Side of Christmas 
 
The 2018 Lighter Side of Christmas committee will be wrapping up sponsorships for this year any day now. The LSOC Parade Committee is in full swing planning for the 2018 Parade - "Christmas in the Stars," held December 1 at 6 pm.
 
This year we are celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Lighter Side of Christmas Parade.
Proceeds from this year's event will benefit the LSOC Parade and the Ute Pass Honor Guard (American Legion, Eric V. Dickson Post 1980 and VFW, Thomas Kelly Post 6051).

Visitation Hall Available for Spiritual Events

El Tesoro de los Angeles El Tesoro Retreat Center is now offering its Visitation Hall Great Room for groups with a spiritual purpose to meet either in the morning, 9:00-12:00, or in the afternoon, 1:00-4:00, Monday-Friday.
