Children Baking Crackers Does your child love to bake and/or cook? In our lively and fun hands-on classes
we teach basic cooking and baking techniques, try different and unusual foods and learn to navigate recipes from easy to complex. We practice organization and cleanliness in the kitchen as well as proper knife skills and essential safety knowledge. We always taste everything we make, bake or cook and critically evaluate recipes for how we might make Children's Cooking Class them differently or better the next time. We always love to experiment in the kitchen, so you never know what might be on the menu! Always emphasizing healthy, organic and whole foods, we give children the tools they'll need to make healthier lifestyle choices throughout their lives.

Exploring French Regional Cuisine with Chef Deja Hart - Normandy & Brittany
Tuesday, March 21th from 6 - 8pm
Steal away to the coast of France for an evening as we delve into the cuisines of Normandie (Normandy) and Bretagne (Brittany). Normandy is Chef Deja Hart Cooking Class known for supplying the best scallops and sole in the country and is famous for soft cheeses such as Camembert. With over 9 million apple trees, Normandy and Brittany are also known for their mouthwatering apple dishes as well as Calvados, a delightful apple brandy. When it comes to great seafood, cheese, apple cider and sweets - this region has it all!
Beautiful Burgundy, France In this hands on and demonstration style class Chef Deja Hart will teach us to make
Coquilles Saint Jacques Mornay (Scallops Mornay), Beef Carbonnade (Beef Stew made with Flemish Beer and topped with broiled dijon-croutons) and a classic French Apple Tart Tatin. We will taste wines that compliment the menu.

Adult & Child Workshop - Homemade Pasta, Sauce & Pesto with Mary Weaver
Saturday, March 25th from 10:30am - 1pm

There's nothing better than homemade pasta and a delicious, easy to make red sauce and seasonal pesto. A great adult & child project - it's more fun to make homemade pasta together! Once you've tasted pasta from scratch and see how easy it is to make, it will be hard to go back to the box. In this hands on class, Mary Weaver, owner of Newport Cooks will teach homemade pasta and make Fettuccine, Farfalle and Ravioli. In addition we'll whip up a flavorful red sauce and homemade pesto using seasonal fresh greens and herbs. We'll taste everything we make too!

Workshop: Making Thai Curry Pastes with Chef Deja Hart
Sunday, March 26th from 2  - 5pm
Chef Deja Teaching Class
Give your Thai dishes a kickstart with these three delicious homemade curry pastes and you'll be able to whip up curry in a hurry any time! In this hands on class we'll make Green Curry Paste (Nam Prik Gaeng Khao Wan), Chiang Mai Noodle Paste (Nam Prik Gaeng Khao Soi) and Gaeng Hanglay Paste (Nam Prik Gaeng Hanglay). We will talk about the different culinary regions of Thailand Ayurvedic Spices and taste dishes from the three regions our curry pastes are from - the hot and sweet Green Chicken Curry of Central Thailand, Gang Hanglay, a Burmese Style Pork Curry that is a favorite dish served at celebrations and Chiang Mai Noodles, one of the most popular noodle dishes of Northern Thailand, originally introduced by Chinese Haw immigrants.
Everyone will go home with a small jar of each paste to inspire your own Thai cooking at home. We'll also taste beer and wine to compliment each curry dish we sample in class.

Making Stromboli with Bill the Baker
Thursday, March 30th from 6 - 8pm

If you want to learn the ins and outs of making and baking homemade Stromboli, you are in for a treat in this hands on class taught by Bill the Baker from Chicago. While some believe it's named after the Italian island of Stromboli, others believe it got its name from the 1950s Italian- Stromboli American film, Stromboli directed by Roberto Rossellini, featuring Ingrid Bergman. Regardless of its origin, Stromboli is a delicious baked bread crust stuffed with meats, veggies and/or cheeses and enjoyed for lunch, dinner, or as an appetizer. Stromboli is even great for breakfast, stuffed with egg, cheese, sausage, or bacon. And for veggie lovers, we'll make one filled with your favorites.  Regardless of your preferences, Stromboli is a crowd-pleaser anytime! We'll taste wine to compliment the menu.
Baking Workshop: New York Style Bagels & Flavored Cream Cheeses with Bill the Baker
Sunday, April 2nd from 2:30 - 5:30pm
Bagel Making Class with Bill Reichman
In this 3- hour workshop Bill the Baker will share the secrets to making delicious chewy New York Style Bagels. We'll work with cinnamon raisin bagel dough and plain bagel dough that can be made into either Sesame or Poppy Seed Bagels. While your Bread Baking Class with Bill Reichman bagels are in the oven, Bill will demonstrate how to create three different cream cheese spreads. This is a great class for children as well as adults!
