NJSACC: The Statewide Network for New Jersey's Afterschool Communities is looking for fantastic guest contributors to our soon-to-be-relaunched #steamNJ blog. We're looking to make better connections between STEAM and New Jersey's afterschool and out-of-school time communities.

STEM stands for science, technology, engineering and math, while STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. In both cases, the terms were coined to represent the current educational effort to bring these academic curriculums together in a coordinated manner that results in students using the skills they have been taught in science, technology, arts and math to problem-solve engineering or computer based projects. The goal is to encourage students to make better connections between their academic skills, real world career skills of the modern workplace, and the evolving instructional strategies of post-secondary colleges and universities.
