To all our readers, have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Part of the President of the United States of America, George Washington's, Thanksgiving Proclamation, given in New York on October 3rd,1789:
"'... the joint Committee requested me to recommend to the People of the United States, a day of public thanksgiving and prayer, to be
observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty God, especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness.

Now therefore I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next, to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being....That we may then all unite in rendering unto him our sincere and humble thanks."

With these beautiful sentiments and Autumn images from Central Park, Princess and I wish you a warm, healthy and happy Thanksgiving!

New York's Legal Landmarks by Robert Pigott
Look on Amazon for New York's Legal Landmarks, which we recently self-published, by New York lawyer Robert Pigott. The book takes the reader on a tour of past and present courthouses in New York that were sites of sensational trials, locations that figured in the nation's constitutional history, law firms where great Americans practiced law and the homes, schools and final resting places of Supreme Court Justices. Robert has been practicing law in New York for 25 years and he is now the General Counsel of a 100-year-old New York City nonprofit organization.

Jason Huza: Just Let's Go
We are delighted to welcome Jason Huza and his latest book, Just Let's Go.This book is an adult fiction foray into the mind of a young man addicted to excess. Despite a loving fiancee, a comfortable position at a Manhattan-based brokerage, a close-knit circle of friends, money and talent, Henry is constantly piqued by a desire for the next big thing. Jason Huza has been writing for over a decade, and has completed five books on his iPhone, ranging from non traditional westerns, sci-fi, to contemporary dark romantic comedy and thrillers. He is also a playwright with a web-series that has a million followers.

Bruce Rosen's Bombed in His Bed
We are thrilled to include Bruce Rosen as our client, whose wonderful memoir, Bombed in His Bed, about his uncle, Myer Rush, the International Jewish gangster. Myer Rush miraculously survived a bomb planted under his bed, which was thought to have been placed by the Canadian mafia so that he couldn't testify about a $100 million fraud, which was considered "the crime of the century" in the 1960s. Bruce is an award winning writer who has written professionally over three decades, as well as a reporter. Award winning filmmaker and director Martin Duffy has written the film script based on the book. We are in process of agenting both the book and the film script.                                  (Photo:Bruce Rosen)

7 Tips for Writing Dialogue
To improve the dialogue in your book, you may find the following tips helpful. The more you work on these, the more you will grow as an author.
  1.  Listen and pay attention to the way people talk.
  2.  Read dialogue out loud so that it sounds like real speech.
  3.  Don't provide too much information at once.
  4.  Break up dialogue with action.
  5. Don't overdo dialogue tags ("he/she said").
  6. Stereotypes, profanity, and slang: beware of these!
  7. Punctuate dialogue correctly.
