Hello from Washington, D.C.! Just six months ago, King’s Church D.C started at a hotel about a mile from the U.S. Capitol building. We're filled with gratitude. We're "
expecting great things from God and attempting great things for God." By God’s grace, we have...
- An accessible & visible meeting space (International Spy Museum),
- About 50 people gathering each week
- Several small groups of people meeting weekly committed to learning the Bible and to the work of prayer
- Specific emerging ministries vital to the city
- Above all, a faith family committed to the work of Christ work in the region
We're grateful to God for this new and important work called King’s Church DC.

True Christianity
On
Sunday mornings
, our church is studying the First Epistle of John (1 John). The author John was one of the 12 disciples of Jesus, identified as the disciple “whom Jesus loved” (John 21:20-24). His story extends many decades after the resurrection of Christ. Eventually, he was exiled to the Greek Island of Patmos by the Romans (Revelation 1:9) and likely there died of natural causes. 1 John, and our series, is all about knowing true belief and living faithfully as people of action and truth.

135 Guests
This Sunday we marked our 135th guest! This is truly “
immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us” (
Ephesians 3:20). We don’t always know where the guests are coming from, who invited them, or how they found us, but we are so thankful to God that he is bringing visitors to hear and see the gospel of Christ each Sunday.

Adoption Sunday
Dr. Tony Merida (who, with his wife adopted five children!) joined us earlier this month to speak on adoption. Specifically, we discussed how the New Testament describes Christian identity in terms of being an adopted son or daughter of God through Jesus Christ. See
9 Powerful Stats on the Orphan Crisis.

Ministries
Our church is thankful to have a lot of
events and ways to get plugged in. One-on-one discipleship, a couple of weekly Bible studies in the city, tons of friendly dialogue with people who believe different than us, Sunday ministries, a men’s and women’s group that will start back up soon, a prison ministry, weekly outreach, and partnerships with non-profits. We are attempting great things for God and grounding all those efforts and labors and dreams in God's grace, supported by prayer.

New Family
We’re happy to welcome this month
new King’s Church family of all age groups, ethnicities, and professional backgrounds. Whether law, education, transportation, defense, medical, engineering, or plumbing we are one in Christ. Apart from Jesus, the thing everyone always says is best about our new church is the genuine warmth of our diverse family of faith (not just race, but also age, education, marital status, and vocation).

North Africa
It is abundantly clear that our church will focus heavily on gospel advancing efforts in
North Africa. We are amazed at the providence of God in bringing to us international and domestic partners, churches, and workers in a concentrated way to make an impact in North Africa. In the next few months, Lord willing, some from our church will make a trip to the region to lay the groundwork. From there, it is our hope that we will make regular trips to this region in support of the work.
