CEO's Corner
The Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance's Image Committee started a Photography Contest in 2012 to garner a variety of photos in the Fort Dodge area. Many of the entries are used to promote the City of Fort Dodge and Webster County. Whether you have a professional grade DSLR or take all your pictures with your cellphone, we'd love to see Fort Dodge and Webster County through your lens. Each participant may submit a maximum of 20 pictures for the contest across the categories listed below.

Possible Categories:
  •  Industry & Business
  •  Recreation/People at Play
  •  Arts & Education
  •  Architecture/History
  •  Scenic/Landscapes
  •  Most Creative

Winners in each category will be recognized in The Messenger's Business Review publication, the Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance website, and at the Growth Alliance Annual Dinner. The first place winner overall will have his/her photo on display at the Growth Alliance offices for one year and will receive a $50 gift card to a local business.

All entries are subject to unlimited use by the Growth Alliance, the City of Fort Dodge and Webster County and may be used without permission or credit.

The Fort Dodge Community District is to offer opportunities for Youth Mental Health First Aid.

The Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) training course is designed for lay people to learn methods of assisting a young person who may be in the early stages of developing a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis. This is designed for
members of the public who have frequent contact with youth and young adults, such as parents, school staff, sports coaches, and youth workers / volunteers. It is most relevant when it is first apparent to an adult that a youth or young adult is exhibiting signs of emotional, behaviors, or mental health challenges. It can also provide useful information on how to assist a young person who has had long term mental health challenges or a history of a serious mental disorder.

We will be offering this 8 hour course on the following dates at the FD Middle School.

November 14 & 16 from 4 pm-8 pm
January 9 & 11 from 4 pm- 8 pm
