Thank you to those who attended last months Green Acres Ranch
ACS Horse Show!
It was a fun show with many of our own customers taking home top ribbons. Congratulations riders!
A few of our most dedicated interns were also given the opportunity to travel to San Marcos the following weekend to attend the ACS show hosted by the San Diego Arabian Horse Association.
It was also a fun and well organized horse show and once again the Green Acres riders came home with top ribbons.
Good job Green Acres riders!!!

ATTENTION:
GA BOARDERS AND CLIENTS
Here are a few reminders:
1.
Please leave your dogs at home
when visiting Green Acres. It has been a long standing rule here at GA that only resident dogs may be allowed on the premises. This rule is for your dogs safety as well as the safety of fellow boarders, clients, and horses. If we see your dog on our property you will be asked to remove them.
2. While here on the ranch, please park your vehicles in the parking lot.
Please do not park any vehicles at your horses stall or barn.
If you are delivering feed or heavy items, drop them off and then return your vehicle to the parking lot. (all haul-in vehicles and trailers MUST have a valid parking pass displayed on their dashboard at all times.)
3. Please be mindful of activities going on while delivering items to your stall.
Horses always have the right away.
If there is an activity in front or near where you need to drop something off, please wait till it is over or return later.
4.
Please do not put shavings in your horse's stall or pen! Regular shavings tend to blow away, and are to difficult for our maintenance staff to properly clean. INSTEAD, use pelleted shavings which work GREAT and allow our staff to properly care for y
our horses needs!
5.
Check your spam folder if you are not receiving your monthly invoice.
Boarders will receive a monthly invoice from Green Acres via EMAIL. If you do not see it, check your spam folder and add " [email protected]" to your contact list.
And don't forget, please observe our speed limits
and
always yield to horses.
GA courtesy allows for the
vehicles driving UP
the drive way to have
the right of way
.
5 MPH Speed Limit
= No Dust!
Thank you for your help to keep Green Acres
a safe place for everyone to enjoy!
|
If you do not already have a salt block in your horse's stall...now is the time.
Horses do require about 1-2 ounces of salt per day to
help meet their requirement for sodium and chloride. This
requirement can increase to 4-6 ounces of salt per day in hot climates or under exercise where losses in sweat increase greatly. Inadequate salt in the diet can result in abnormal eating behavior such as licking or chewing objects which have salt on them (fork handles etc.) or licking/eating dirt. Water intake may also decrease, increasing the risk of impaction colic. In more extreme cases, horses will stop eating and may experience muscle incoordination."
