ATTENTION:  GA BOARDERS AND CLIENTS

Here are a few reminders:
1. Please leave your dogs at home when visiting Green Acres. It has been a long standing rule here at GA that only resident dogs may be allowed on the premises. This rule is for your dogs safety as well as the safety of fellow boarders, clients, and horses. If we see your dog on our property you will be asked to remove them.

2. While here on the ranch, please park your vehicles in the parking lot.  Please do not park any vehicles at your horses stall or barn.   If you are delivering feed or heavy items, drop them off and then return your vehicle to the parking lot.  (all haul-in vehicles and trailers MUST have a valid parking pass displayed on their dashboard at all times.)

3. Please be mindful of activities going on while delivering items to your stall.  Horses always have the right away.   If there is an activity in front or near where you need to drop something off, please wait till it is over or return later.

4.  Please do not put shavings in your horse's stall or pen! Regular shavings tend to blow away, and are to difficult for our maintenance staff to properly clean. INSTEAD, use pelleted shavings which work GREAT and allow our staff to properly care for y our horses needs!

5.
Check your spam folder if you are not receiving your monthly invoice.

Boarders will receive a monthly invoice from Green Acres via EMAIL. If you do not see it, check your spam folder and add "[email protected]" to your contact list.

And don't forget, please observe our speed limits  and  always yield to horses.  GA courtesy allows for the vehicles driving UP the drive way to have  the right of way .
5 MPH Speed Limit  = No Dust!

Thank you for your help to keep Green Acres
a safe place for everyone to enjoy!

CONGRATULATIONS COWGIRL!!!
Our very own Green Acres boarder, and local horse legend Pat Ommert has been inducted  into The National Cowgirl Hall of Fame!

Pat North Ommert: A skilled trick rider, Roman rider and jumper, and horse racer, Ommert toured the world with Wild West shows. She acted as a stunt double in Hollywood movies such as the 1954 picture, "A Star is Born," and landed contracts for performances at Madison Square Garden and Boston Garden. After she retired from trick riding, Ommert and her husband, a
veterinarian, opened California's first private equine hospital and the Los Caballos Farm, a center for resting and rehabilitating horses. Ommert was the recipient of the California
Professional Horsemen's Association Lifetime Achievement Award in 2000. She has become a legend through her riding, and her invaluable advocacy to keep California's horse trails and open spaces preserved will benefit cowgirls in generations to come.  more information here

We are SERIOUS  about our
5 MPH Speed Limit!
In addition, All drivers MUST Yield to Horses. Many animals and children are always present at Green Acres. For their safety and yours, any drivers who fail to follow the Green Acres driving rules  may be asked to park on the street.

If you do not already have a salt block in your horse's stall...now is the time.
Horses do require about 1-2 ounces of salt per day to
help meet their requirement for sodium and chloride.  This
requirement can increase to 4-6 ounces of salt per day in hot climates or under exercise where losses in sweat increase greatly.  Inadequate salt in the diet can result in abnormal eating behavior such as licking or chewing objects which have salt on them (fork handles etc.) or licking/eating dirt.  Water intake may also decrease, increasing the risk of impaction colic. In more extreme cases, horses will stop eating and may experience muscle incoordination."   www.horsefeedblog. com
