SCANSOURCE, MOTOROLA SOLUTIONS, AND AXIS COMMUNICATIONS JUMPSTART CAMPAIGN WITH $270,000 GIFT
ScanSource, Motorola Solutions and Axis Communications have collaborated to give Greenville Technical College a gift valued at approximately $270,000 that will make the entire Barton Campus wireless and provide electronic surveillance for the security of the students, faculty and staff.
This is the first gift in a three to five year fundraising campaign with a $12 million goal. The purpose of the campaign is to provide technology that will most effectively meet the many ways in which students learn. An increasing number of students are using leading edge technology to learn. Mike Baur, CEO of ScanSource, challenged other community business leaders to join in making this campaign a success.

GTC WINS A 2011 INNOVATION
SHOWCASE AWARD
Congratulations to Dr. Lee Edwards and Kathy Ferrell of GTC's Outdoor Living and Learning Lab on earning a 2011 Innovation of the Year award! The award recognizes staff, faculty, and administrators at member colleges who have designed and implemented significant innovations. Award winning innovations were selected based on traits of quality, efficiency, cost effectiveness, replication, creativity, and timeliness. DANIEL-MICKEL FOUNDATION
GIVES $10,000 FOR
QUICK JOBS WITH A FUTURE
The Daniel-Mickel Foundation of Greenville has presented a gift of $10,000 to the Greenville Tech Foundation for the Quick Jobs With a Future program offered through the Corporate and Career Development Division of Greenville Technical College. "Quick Jobs" provides intense training that prepares unemployed or underemployed persons with the skills needed to enter a new career field. The gift will be used to assist students with tuition, books and supplies. Charles Mickel, Vice President of the Daniel-Mickel Foundation (right) presents the gift to Steve Hand, Director of Quick Jobs.

FABRI-KAL FOUNDATION
INCREASES SUPPORT
The Fabri-Kal Foundation has increased its support of students at Greenville Technical College with a pledge of $25,000 to be added to the existing endowed scholarship fund. Greenville plant manager Chris Allen said, "We greatly appreciate what Greenville Tech does for businesses like Fabri-Kal by improving the skills of our existing workforce and preparing others for entry into productive employment." LOCKHEED MARTIN SUPPORTS STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS
Lockheed Martin has given $30,000 to the Greenville Tech Foundation to support scholarships for aviation maintenance students at Greenville Technical College. The gift, to be added to the Lockheed Martin Endowed Aviation Maintenance Scholarship Fund will provide scholarship assistance in perpetuity. Bob Owenby, Lockheed Martin Greenville site executive (on right in photo), emphasized the importance of an "ongoing strong partnership between Lockheed Martin and Greenville Tech" for the future success of Lockheed Martin and for the College's graduates. College President, Dr. Keith Miller, (on left in photo) thanked Mr. Owenby on behalf of those students who will benefit, and assured him of the College's commitment to provide high quality training for those pursuing certificates and degrees in aviation maintenance.

WISH YOU COULD LEAVE A LEGACY OF EDUCATION?
You can by remembering the Greenville Tech Foundation in your will! Leave the legacy of education that will continue well beyond and into the future. Estate planning can be made by following these instructions below.
Name the Greenville Tech Foundation, Inc. as a beneficiary in your will, or through a codicil (amendment) to your existing will. You can include outright gifts, a percentage of your estate, and/or remainder of your estate after other beneficiaries have received their inheritances.
When considering a planned gift, it is important for you to consult with your legal counsel, financial advisor, certified public accountant, bank trust officer, or insurance agent as these professionals are familiar with the tax implications of these arrangements and can help you develop the best plan. EGG MEDITATIONS, DRAWING EXHIBITION AT RIVERWORKS GALLERY
Greenville Technical College's Riverworks Gallery Egg Meditations by Yvette Dede is on view July 1 through August 21. Egg Meditations is a collection of more than 30 personal, meticulous drawings of single eggs. Ms. Dede's drawings appear embossed because her marks create images that defy the picture plane. The artist lives in Charleston and is a drawing professor at the College of Charleston. Her drawing installations were included in the South Carolina Arts Commission's Triennial 2001 and 2004.
RIVERWORKS Gallery is operated by and for the faculty and students of the Department of Visual and Performing Arts at Greenville Technical College. The gallery is located at 300 River Street, Suite 202, in downtown Greenville. Hours are 1-5, Sunday through Friday and also during Beach Music concerts, Thursday evenings 6-9.
