 Unpack & Unwind

No matter where you choose to stay, you'll never be far from alpine fun or treks in the snow.  In many cases, you can just head out the door and onto the trails.

Tuck yourself away at The Kirby Hideaway while still being just a few minutes drive to the slopes and fat biking trails.  The vacation rental offers three bedrooms, a full kitchen, washer/dryer, and the family dog is welcome, too!

Enjoy the view of a frozen Lake Willoughby from the rooms or cottages at the Willoughvale Inn which also has a restaurant and bar on site.  Cottages offer kitchens, gas fireplaces and some have jacuzzi tubs.  It's the perfect place to call home if you're planning to do some ice fishing or head out snowmobiling.

It's not your average log cabin stay at GNS Properties.  These cabins are a beautiful mix of rustic style with some luxury thrown in such as full kitchens with plenty of counter space, WiFi, and storage for your winter gear.  Some even have washer/dryers and can sleep up to 19 people. The cabins are located right on the snowmobile trails for your late season rides.

Burke Newsmakers!

Spring skiing season is here!  There's still time to enjoy 'a throwback experience, with modern twists and classic New England skiing.' as boston.com phrased it in a recent feature...'Just three hours north of Boston, with some of the most breathtaking views in Vermont-The Green Mountain State's Willoughby Gap to the west, New Hampshire's Presidential Range to the east-Burke Mountain seems to be the epitome of classic Vermont skiing. Winding trails, glades for days, a mid-mountain bar for warm-up beers, and a new modern slope-side hotel all add up to an experience that screams old school-meets-new school. And short lift lines mean if you get an early start, your legs could be rubber from double-digit runs before lunch...' READ MORE

You just never know, that person ahead of you on the lifts might well be a future Olympian attending school next door at Burke Mountain Academy.  If you tuned into this year's Winter Olympics, you definitely saw some Burkies on the screen.  BMA is a private High School well known as a producer of medal winning athletes whose  training ground was the slopes of Burke.   Several alumni competed at the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics including: Kai Horwitz, Nolan Kasper, Tania Prymak, Hig Roberts, Ida Sargent, Liz Stephen, Mikaela Shiffrin, and Sven Von Appen.

While some Burkies make the news for the Olympics, others show up in Forbes Magazine.  This year, Forbes chose BMA grad and maker of ski-inspired, colorful hats, Corinne Prevot as a 'Top 30 under 30'  in the Manufacturing and Industry category.  Corinne started her company, Skida, while a student at BMA, making hats for her teammates.  The fun designs were a hit and Corinne now sells over 70,000 hats and accessories from her business home-base in Vermont.  You can see them adorning heads all over the Northeast Kingdom and elsewhere.

Now that you know where to get just the right hat to show off in Burke, you can head on over here to make your own kind of news.
