Our nation is rocked by the news of one mass shooting incident after another, occurring in increasingly rapid succession. The latest attack, which took place at the First Baptist Church of Sutherland, Texas, strikes particularly close to home. Our hearts break and our prayers are lifted up for that congregation and community. We can much too easily imagine such an occurrence in our own churches.

We cry out with the Psalmist,"O Lord, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked exult?"

We pray not only for the victims but also for a different kind of national conversation, one in which we learn to work together rather than against each other to prevent such terrible acts of violence in the future. May God guide us to know how best to respond and how to advocate for peace in our own communities, nation, and world.

Youth Ski Retreat
"Thank you for all you did to give our youth such a positive experience at this year's beach retreat. I can't imagine anything that would have made the weekend better. It was a wonderful retreat and another example of why your ministry is so important. If the over 300 youth in attendance didn't already do the job, I wanted you to know you are greatly appreciated."
- Jonathan Eidson, Sardis, Charlotte
