Dear Friend,

February is a special month in my life. It was in February, 1989, that God saved me and changed the course of my life forever.

February 19, 2004 was the day I walked our of the Correctional Training Facility, Soledad, CA after 15.5 years of incarceration.

February 19, 2009 was the day I was released from parole and my debt to society was fully paid. People from my church helped me celebrate at midnight!

February 1, 2013 is the day that my wife and I got into our two vehicles with our daughters and drove from Los Banos, CA to Chattanooga, TN.

For many prisoners, February is a special month because it is the shortest. February flies by, putting them one month closer to their release date...

We are thankful that you are receiving this and we hope that you will continue to pray with and for us.
February Travel Schedule
  • 1-6: Salt Lake City, Utah: Northern California Presbytery Meeting
  • 5: Jordan Valley Church, West Jordan, UT: Ministry Presentation
February Update & Praise
  • We recently found out that we were awarded a large grant in January. We are thankful and excited about this new partnership.
  • We have a man in California who has agreed to join with Metanoia as our regional representative there!
  • The President of Metanoia's Board of Directors has been asked to consult with the State of Georgia's Department of Corrections regarding best practices for volunteers.
  • God continues to open doors across the State of Georgia regarding the mentoring ministry. If you live in and would like to be involved in your area, please contact me.
  • We praise God for the work He is doing in the prisons across the country. We are thankful to be a small part of the mighty work He is doing.
February Prayer Requests
  • Please praise God for the growth that He has given to Metanoia and for the impact the gospel is making in the lives of so many.

  • Please pray for the men and women who are involved with Metanoia, whether as students, corresponding disciplers, mentees, mentors, or supporting churches.

  • Please pray for the hire of the man in California. It must be approved by his presbytery, Metanoia's Board, and Mission to North America.

  • Please pray for a seminary solution as we have some students around the county who would benefit greatly from seminary education.

  • Please pray for Shelly as she keeps up the daily work of maintaining the correspondence ministry.
  • Please pray for Rev. Randy Jackson and the expansion of the mentoring ministry into the State of Georgia. Once again we were told by a high-level Corrections Official that this is the most important component of the faith and character model. Pray that God will raise up the laborers.
  • We have applied for a substantial grant package which will facilitate Metanoia's growth over the next 6 years or so. Please pray that the donor will catch on to our vision and see the amazing work that God is doing in our prisons across the country.
  • Please pray for new financial partners who would like to invest in God's work in the prisons.
  • Please pray that God will help us in finding the right people we need to fill important positions over the course of the next several years.
