Good Friday Morning!
What a beautiful day Thursday was, I talked to guys in NY, OH, IN,IL, and all said the weather was great there as well! On social media, there are a lot of posts of people putting early soybeans in the ground, that sure does seem to be the trend this year, and the way it sounds it can pay big dividends. For us this week was full of making deliveries, finishing up some Spring shop projects and making some last minute orders. We sold close to 100 rows of closing wheels yesterday so do not feel like it is too late! Order yours today, you will wish you had them when the heavy rain comes or a cold snap hinders germination and emergence.

Cassie's Country Cupboard Weekly Recipe:
Teriyaki Turkey Burgers

We’re looking at temperatures worthy of breaking out the grill this weekend! Be sure to save the juice from the canned pineapple in this recipe for a yummy tropical drink on the deck. Feel free to use fresh pineapple, too!

Teriyaki Turkey Burgers
(4 servings)
Ingredients:
1 egg
½ c. dry bread crumbs
3 green onions, chopped
4 Tablespoons teriyaki sauce,  divided
¼ tsp. onion powder
1 pound ground turkey or chicken (85/15 mix – avoid the extra lean)
1 can (8 oz) sliced pineapple, drained and patted dry
4 hamburger buns

Directions:
Combine egg, bread crumbs, onions, 2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce and onion powder in large bowl. Add turkey and mix well. Shape into 4 patties. If using outdoor grill, coat grill rack with cooking spray before starting the grill. Preheat grill. Grill patties over medium heat for 6-8 minutes on each side or until meat thermometer reads 165 degrees, brushing with remaining teriyaki sauce during the last 5 minutes.

Grill pineapple slices for 3-4 minutes on each side or until heated through. Serve burgers and pineapple on buns.

Poly Spike Closing Wheels= MORE BUSHELS

THE CLOSING WHEEL MARKET IS CONFUSING
With all of the closing wheel options out there today, it can be very frustrating trying to determine which one works best for your operation. Conventional, no-till, cover crops, which one actually lasts and performs? I can tell you on our experience, the Poly Spike Closing Wheels have stole our hearts. Last year I watched them run in all conditions for the first time and was very impressed. They work right on top of the row, (not flipping seed due to the shortened spike) closing the trench and eliminating sidewall compaction. I highly suggest running poly spike closing wheels, if you would like to try a row, give us a call 419-953-8500
