Good afternoon

We are pleased to offer Guigal's top wines from the great duo of 2013 and 2012.

Having tasted the full range from Guigal last week we certainly agree with Jeb Dunnock of the Wine Advocate when he says "this is a huge lineup, yet the theme across the entire range is incredible quality"

Quantities are very limited so please let us know ASAP if you're interested.

"Looking at the top Côte Rôties, the 2012s are rich, supple, sexy, even flamboyant wines that will be relatively approachable in their youth, yet have broad drink windows. 2013s are much more backward and restrained, and built for the long haul, but the long élevage favored at this estate is certainly helping to soften the tannin and give the wines a suppler texture." Jeb Dunnock

2013 La Mouline
2 cases (3x75cl) - £525
Tight, unevolved and borderline backwards (which is rare for this cuvée), the 2013 Côte Rôtie La Mouline is a wine that reminds Marcel Guigal of the 2006. It offers a terrific perfume of spiced red and black fruits, violets, lots of minerality and even a hint of damp forest floor to go with a full-bodied, elegant, seamless style on the palate. It's not the most massive wine in the lineup, but it has terrific purity, fine, polished tannin and beautiful length. It should dish out ample pleasure over the coming 20 years.

2012 La Mouline
2 cases (3x75cl) - £525
The 2012 Côte Rôtie La Mouline reminds me of the 2011 with its upfront, incredibly perfumed nose of spring flowers, cured meats, roasted herbs, olives and sweet cassis fruit. Full-bodied, beautifully textured, mouth-filling and already impossible to resist, it expands on the palate and I guarantee this beauty will put a smile on your face anytime over the coming two decades.

2013 La Turque
2 cases (6x75cl) - £1050
A bigger, richer wine than the La Mouline, the 2013 Côte Rôtie La Turque offers full-bodied, layered and almost decadent notes of blackcurrants, chocolate, cassis and toasted spice. This beauty has building tannic grip, a layered, concentrated mid-palate and serious length-all pointing to a long, healthy life. Forget bottles for 4-5 years and enjoy over the following two decades.

2012 La Turque
2 cases (6x75cl) - £1050
Similar to the La Mouline with its forward, incredibly sexy style, the 2012 Côte Rôtie La Turque (there's 7% Viognier in the blend) offers a saturated purple color to go with meaty, smoky notes of cassis, cured meats, chocolate and roasted herbs. It's a big mouthful of a wine, with full-bodied richness and a stacked mid-palate, but it has a seamless, weightless texture, perfectly ripe tannin and a blockbuster finish. I'd happily drink a glass today, but it should be at its finest from 2020-2046.

2012 La Landonne
2 cases (6x75cl) -£1400
The utterly perfect 2012 Côte Rôtie La Landonne is the star of three single vineyards in 2012. Possessing an off-the-charts sexiness in its layered, concentrated and full-bodied style, it has a wealth of fruit, ripe tannin, a stacked mid-palate and pedal-to-the-metal notes of black fruits, scorched earth, caramelized meats and crushed rocks. While this cuvée normally needs a decade to become drinkable, there's a sweetness of fruit here that allows it to offer incredible pleasure even today. Nevertheless, give bottles 5-6 years and enjoy over the following three decades.

2012 Chateau d'Ampuis MAGNUMS
1 case (3x150cl) - £315
The 2012 Côte Rôtie Château d'Ampuis is a bigger, richer wine that offers full-bodied richness and a broad, expansive style on the palate. Black raspberries, toasted spices, cured meats and licorice all emerge from this incredibly sexy, complex and nuanced Côte Rôtie, and my notes finish with "wish I could drink a glass." Enjoy bottles anytime over the coming 15 or more years.

2013 Ex Voto Blanc
  2 cases (6x75cl) - £605
The 2013 Hermitage Ex Voto Blanc is a head-turner that offers sensational notes of buttered stone fruits, charcoal, toasted bread, toasted nuts and freshly crushed rocks. Take Marsanne and filter it through a bed of rocks, and you'd have an idea of what this beauty tastes like. Full-bodied, thick, unctuous and concentrated, it's certainly one of the most exciting dry whites coming from the Northern Rhône Valley today.
