Teacher Appreciation Night
Manitowoc educators held a "Teacher Appreciation" night. There was a huge crowd and lots of fun was had-as evidenced by the pics below. Computers were available for those wishing to vote for Recertification. The evening also included a membership campaign which resulted in enrollment of 2 new members!!

Bye-Bye WECAN! On June 15th, QEI will be the only PDP platform!
Since 2004, QEI and WECAN have been the 2 electronic PDP platforms available to our PI 34 licensed educators. As of June 15, 2017, WECAN will no longer support a PDP platform, leaving QEI as the soul provider. WEAC is an affiliate organization to QEI and WEAC members receive a complementary Gold Level subscription. Many of our members have taken advantage of this benefit. If you haven't yet, now is the time to switch over! Find out more and watch this video.

Development
Plan is a pathway to licensing for any teacher who earned a degree after September 1, 2004. Six credit licensed teachers can opt to do a PDP. As may districts have removed monetary incentive for credits, members are switching to the PDP due to the similarities in the work they are already doing in the Educator Effectiveness Evaluation System.
Professional educators who use a PDP need 3 teacher peer reviewers to verify their PDP. To become a reviewer, you do not have to have a PDP. However, you must be DPI-trained. Several of our local associations have members becoming trained in order to support their colleagues in their Professional Endeavors.
New PDP Team Members can be trained for free by the CESAs. This training is provided in a blended format that includes a required online learning component. This flipped learning allows you the flexibly to complete the 6-10 hours on your own time schedule.
Participants are required
to complete the online portion prior
to a half-day face-to-face meeting at the CESA.
CESA 7 is offering 2 face-to-face dates at times that are conducive to an educator's schedule, at their location!

- Monday, January 9, 4:15 pm-8:15 pm

Be a Discovery World Summer Camp Volunteer
Help to motivate and inspire young minds as a Discovery World Summer Camp Volunteer! Work within the direction of a Summer Camp Educator to assist in camp activities and curriculum during our week-long summer camps, June 12 through August 25, 2017. Camps take place Monday - Friday, 9:30-4:30, for students grades 1 through 8. We'll help you to select a camp that best fits your interests and expertise, from fashion to engineering!
