2012 Model Youth

A MODEL CASTING CALL FOR THE 2012 HARLEM WEEK FESTIVAL IS BEING HELD IN JUNE FOR MULTI-RACIAL AND INTERNATIONAL MEN, WOMEN AND CHILDREN OF ALL AGES TO PARTICPATE IN FEATURED FASHION SHOWS.

This June 2012, HARLEM WEEK is once again seeking multi-racial and international men, women and children of all ages to participate in featured fashion shows.  One of the most anticipated and heavily attended summer festivals in the Northeast is here again. HARLEM WEEK celebrates its 38th Anniversary with events from July 29th through August 25th, making it what some call "the world's longest week."  The fashion shows featured during HARLEM WEEK are some of the highlights featured in the "Great Day of Harlem," "Elders Jubilee", "Uptown Saturday Night", and "HARLEM DAY" events.   The Model Casting Calls sessions for youth models ages 5 years to 17 of all sizes, can audition on Wednesday, June 20th and Wednesday, June 27th from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.

All casting calls will take place at Adam Clayton Powell Jr. State Office Building located on the 8th floor at 125th Street and Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. Blvd. All models must bring head shots, and comp cards. PHOTO ID is a must for building entry. For info: call 212-862-8477 Ext. 224 or register online at www.HARLEMWEEK.com/models

Other highlights include the NYC Economic Development Day Indoor & Outdoor Expo. The NYC Sr. Citizens Day Expo , Summer In The City and the Uptown Saturday Night Concert, for the 2 day Children's Festival,  HARLEM DAY  with 5 stages of entertainment, fashion shows, The Upper Manhattan Auto Show, NYC Health Village and The Percy E. Sutton Harlem 5k Run and NYC Family Health Walk-A-Thon.

HARLEM WEEK now thirty eight-years old (1974) is very simple.  It began as HARLEM DAY, a one day tribute that was so astonishing and unexpectedly successful that more days were needed to showcase the community's rich economic, political and cultural history, to say nothing of the current ever increasing artistic talent in Harlem. HARLEM WEEK was a day of encouragement and fellowship for New Yorkers in general, Harlemites in particular, many of whom had struggled for some years to see a positive future for Urban America.

HARLEM WEEK 2012 promises to be bigger and better than ever with something for everyone. For a full listing of the HARLEM WEEK Calendar of Events with all locations, times, etc. log onto www.HARLEMWEEK.com or call 212-862-8477. HARLEM WEEK can also be followed on Twitter @ HARLEMWEEK and via the HARLEM WEEK Face book page.
