Executive Summary
:
  • "Giving Back is what our Association is All About:"  These are inspirational words from our President, Paul Beasley of Tile & Light Art of Durango.  This month we have our Member Appreciation & Chili Cook-off, where contestants not only feed you, but are competing for their Charity of Choice.   We will also be revealing the "BIG CHECK" to Habitat for Humanity from our Yard Sale proceeds last month. We are also supporting our Past President and VERY active HBASC member, Russ Turpin of Custom Touch Builders - we hope you will too! We do all this not for the joy of working tirelessly, but for what we can do with our prosperity as a result...enjoyment of family, our beautiful home, and helping support those around us who inspire us daily!

Russ Turpin's grandson, Chase

Russ Turpin is riding in the Courage Classic in July to raise money for Children's Hospital Colorado. He set a goal to raise $1500 because he wants to help Children's Colorado ensure healthier futures for more children here in our home town of Durango, Colorado.

"As you may know, this is personal to me a my family. Six years ago our grandson spent 12 weeks in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Children's Hospital. Through this experience I have learned just how hard it is for families to travel to Denver to receive specialized care for their children when it is needed. This fund currently helps 4-5 families in the Durango area every week. Just a few years ago this kind of help was unavailable here in Durango," Russ said.
