WASTEWATER PROJECT UPDATE

Grant and Loan Update
The Wastewater Reclamation Project has been awarded over $7 million in grant funding, and HDWD is applying for additional grants that have recently become available. HDWD is also working with the State Revolving Fund to apply for a 1% interest rate or lower and $6 million in debt forgiveness.

NEW DISTRICT WELL
Well 20 West to Begin Supplying Water in Summer 2014
To continue with our mission of providing a safe, reliable water supply, HDWD has constructed a new well at the west end of Yucca Valley. This state of the art well is designed to generate 1.2 million gallons a day at 800 gallons per minute. To learn more about HDWD's operations click here

CAPITAL REPLACEMENT PROGRAM (CRP) UPDATE
7 Miles of Old Steel Pipe Replaced
CRP has just completed replacing 7 miles (approx. the length of 123 football fields) of old steel pipe. The old steel pipes were abandoned and the newly installed PVC pipes are now flowing water to customers in the Yucca Mesa area of Buena Vista with boundaries of Highway 247 to the west and Warren Vista to the east.  So far, CRP has replaced over 92 miles of pipe within HDWD's service area.  Click here to learn more about the Capital Replacement Program.

Water-wise Landscaping Ideas for Spring
As a result of current drought conditions, HDWD is encouraging customers to continue to conserve water by using water-wise plants. HDWD has a demonstration garden, open to the public, in front of its office on the corner of 29 Palms Highway and Inca Trail.  It's a great resource to see what beautiful water-wise plants you can plant this Spring.
