HDWD Board Members Sworn into Office
Yucca Valley, CA - At the December 17th Board meeting, three of Hi-Desert Water District's (HDWD) incumbent Directors were sworn into office to serve another four-year term. Following the oath of office, the Board elected a new President and Vice-President for 2015.

HDWD is a public agency that is governed by a Board of five (5) Directors that are each elected by the public residing within the District's boundaries. Each year, the Board elects two (2) Directors to serve as President and Vice President of the Board. Together, the Board is responsible for setting policy, approving budgets, capital expenditures and organizational changes along with guiding the overall strategic direction of the District. HDWD Directors serve for a full term of four years before reelection.

Jim Ventura, Director of Division 2 for the Mojave Water Agency (MWA), officially swore in incumbents Dr. Sheldon Hough, Roger Mayes, and Daniel "Dan" Munsey who were elected to serve another full term.  After the ceremony, former Board President Roger Mayes conducted the election process for a new Board President and Vice-President. Robert "Bob" Stadum was elected to serve as President and Dr. Sheldon Hough was elected to serve as Vice-President for the next year.

"I would like to thank HDWD's customers, my fellow Board members, the District's great General Manager and his fantastic staff.  It's truly an honor to be given this opportunity to serve our community as President of HDWD's Board of Directors during this important time," said HDWD's newly elected Board President Bob Stadum.

This upcoming year will be an important year for the Board as HDWD moves closer to releasing a ballot to property owners within the State's Septic Discharge Prohibition boundaries. The ballot will ask property owners to vote on the formation of an Assessment District that will fund construction of a centralized sewer system which will allow them to meet the requirements of the Prohibition.
