Yucca Valley, CA - Hi-Desert Water District (HDWD) will be hosting a free bus tour of a wastewater treatment facility located in Fillmore, California on Thursday, November 20, 2014. The facility, which uses an advanced treatment technology known as membrane bioreactors, is similar to the one that will be built to serve Yucca Valley.

Constructed in 2009, the Fillmore wastewater treatment plant serves a population of approximately 15,000 residents. Currently, the facility is able to treat 1.8 million gallons of wastewater per day using energy efficient equipment that reduces operating costs. A future expansion of the facility will increase its capacity allowing the city to treat up to 2.4 million gallons of wastewater per day.

If you are interested in joining the tour, click here, or contact Jennifer Poland at (760) 228-6267 or [email protected] to sign up. There is no cost to attend, but seating is limited, so don't delay.
