Help Save & Expand AmeriCorps
ServeNext and AmeriCorps are petitioning the Presidential candidates to help save and expand funding for service employment through AmeriCorps. The petition proposes the creation of one million new national service positions by expanding programs such as AmeriCorps, VISTA, City Year, and others so we can serve and rebuild our country now. The legislation for this already exists - creating the positions just means using the Serve America Act to it's fullest potential. Every day national service programs are mobilizing citizens to address pressing education and housing challenges and providing needed capacity to disaster relief efforts across the country at a three to one return on taxpayer investment.
