19th Annual HERS Walk/Run
Lace 'em up!

It's time to blaze a trail for our annual race-or-ramble, community gathering, celebration of life, and fundraiser! Join us Saturday, September 29, 2018 for our annual 5K Walk/Run and 10K Run at Quarry Lakes Regional Park in Fremont.

Gather a team! We love it when families, work groups, and friendship circles show up in matching shirts, costumes, wings, silly hats, or whatever shows your special team spirit. You can set up a CrowdRise fundraising page together and get your network excited about supporting breast cancer survivors and HERS!

We also encourage individual participants set up their own fundraising page.

CrowdRise makes it easy to fundraise!

Are you new to this great event? We'll have lots more details for you in the coming weeks, but here's the scene:

We begin with an inspiring and soulful Opening Ceremony to honor the survivors celebrating with us that day, as well as those we've lost.

Then the runners hit the trail! The 5K and 10K races are timed by On Your Mark Events, a professional race timing company. Awards for top 3 runners in each race/age group.

Next come the walkers, rollers, and strollers, an enthusiastic group that includes participants of all ages and abilities out to have some fun and raise awareness, community spirit, and funds in support of survivors.

Following the walking and running, participants enjoy a BBQ lunch in the picnic pavilion. Last but not least, our Community Expo features vendors, nonprofits, and healthcare organizations sharing about their services and giving away food, samples, and services.

Every dollar we raise at this event allows us to continue serving our clients healing from breast cancer! We encourage everyone to create a donation page and help us raise much needed funds.

We are thrilled to announce that East Bay Community Foundation will match Crowdrise online donations, up to $20,000!!! Make your donations go further and help raise even more money for HERS Breast Cancer Foundation.

Are you interested in sponsoring this event? In exchange, we will promote your organization in event materials and signage. See our 2018 Sponsorship Brochure for more information. You'll be in good company -- we are so grateful to our loyal and generous supporters!! Generosity is like the sun --
it warms the heart and  makes good things  grow.

Lien, a friend of HERS and a three-time breast cancer survivor, has a passion for gardening. She con tributed three of her stylish succulent
arrangements to the Fremont store. We used them as prizes in a free raffle - we'll be doing this throughout the year as a fun bonus for our clients. The lucky winners are enj oying the beautiful plants now. Thanks Lien!

Staff Stories

This team does not slow down in the summer!

Nancy Githoitho from Limau Cancer Connection in Kenya and her father John brought us a gift of appreciation --   a beautiful basket woven by breast cancer survivors in Nigeria. HERS donated surplus bras and prostheses (originally donated to HERS) to this great organization. We love making friends from around the world!

Jenna Suffle, one of our beloved Hair with Care stylists, brought a very different kind of gift! Join us in welcoming her precious new bundle. Congratulations and best wishes to Jenna and family.

Pam Condy, our vivacious Breast Care Specialist, has been busy doing outreach in the community. On May 3, she  represented HERS at Washington Hospital Healthcare Foundation's 33rd Annual Golf Tournament at Castlewood Country Club in Pleasanton. She even got her picture in Fremont's local newspaper, the Tri-City Voice.

Pam also enjoyed meeting supporters and sharing her love of HERS at the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce event on June 13 at beautiful Wente Winery.
