Juan Padrón is turning 70! To honor the father of Cuban feature film animation, we are screening some of our favorite films: from his cult classic  ¡Vampiros en La Habana! to the sequel  Más Vampiros en La Habana, to his kid-friendly  Elpidio Valdés.

Two vampire clans, one American the other from Eastern Europe, battle it out on the streets of 1930s Havana to get their hands on a secret formula for a high-power sunscreen. Part political satire, part hilarious spoof of horror and gangster movies, the zany action that ensues is set to hot Latin jazz soundtrack by Arturo Sandoval.
