Join us as we kickoff the Advent season with a festive family celebration including an advent wreath workshop, seasonal crafts, cookies, hot cocoa, and a Hanging of the Greens service filled with holiday music and interactive fun.

2. Holiday Dinners for The Pantry

Purchase Thanksgiving or Christmas dinners for our families who depend on the Food Pantry. Your donation of $35.00 will purchase a complete meal with a turkey and all of the trimmings.   

3. Advent Study
Advent "Sent" Study
Monday's at 10:00am starting November 30th
 
God sent Christ into the world as our Savior. That's what Christmas is all about. In turn, Christ sends us into the world. This Advent study will challenge you through stories, art, and Bible study to discover what it means to have Christ born anew in you this Christmas and what it means to be Christ's hands, feet, head, and heart in this world. Our four Pastors will take turns leading this special 4 week Advent study. The cost is $10. 

 
4. Women's Christmas Dinners
Women's Christmas Dinners
Thursday, December 3 & Friday, December 4

Start off the Christmas season by enjoying a night out with your girlfriends! This annual women's event is a great opportunity to gather together for a wonderful night of fellowship, joy and laughter with musician, speaker and entertainer Jake Gulledge. The doors will open at 6:30pm with dinner served at 7:00pm. The cost is $25 per person. We will have plenty of open tables this year. Host and decorate a table or just come and meet a few new friends. Please register online using the link below.

5.  Student Ministry Christmas Parties

Merry Christmas to all 6th-12th graders!  
Join us on December 6th from 5:00-8:00pm. 

We're hosting a progressive dinner to celebrate Christmas with our students this year!  Sign up online by Thursday, Dec. 3rd using the link below to participate! We also would love for anyone in the congregation to help us host or serve for our evening.  If you would like to volunteer to serve as a host home for appetizers or main course (for a group of approx 12 students), volunteer driver, dessert donations, or servers to make this night a success.

6.  Secret Servant 
Helping Our Own at Christmas

Our Secret Servant Christmas Ministry is dedicated to helping families in need during the Holidays. If you know a family that needs help this year, please email Roger Freeman at operations@hmumc.org. Please make sure to include a phone number in the email.

7.  Salvation Army Angel Tree
Be a blessing, adopt an angel!

The Christmas Angel Tree Program provides new toys and clothing to children who otherwise would not have gifts to open during the holidays. Simply pick up a bag in the Narthex that contains a tag with the name, age, clothing size and toy requests of an underprivileged child this holiday season. This year's tree also includes 25 economically disadvantaged senior adults. Please return the tag and unwrapped gifts to the front office by December 6.

8. Mark Your Calendars for  Christmas at HMUMC!
"The Word Became Flesh" Christmas Cantata
Sunday, December 13 at 9:30am & 11:00am 
Come enjoy the wondrous story of the Savior's birth as told through glorious choral and orchestral music, and meaningful scriptural narration. This live worship experience, presented by the Cantata Choir, Orchestra and our Pastors, brings to life the greatest story ever told! This is the PERFECT time to invite your friends and family. For those who prefer our early service, a festive pre-Christmas worship service with live music will be held in the Rooftop at 8:15am.

9. Upward Sports
U pward Basketball and Cheerleading Registration is No w Open

Upward is a fun way for Pre-K (4 year olds) through 6th grade boys and girls to learn more about God while focusing on fundamental skills. The season starts January 12 and ends with an awards celebration on March 19. The early registration cost is $150. Sign up online by using the link below or pick up a registration form at the Welcome Center. 

10.  Guatemala Mission Trip
Student Guatemala Mission Trip

The student ministry of HMUMC has committed to 3 years of service in Guatemala through Impacto Ministry. The mission of Impacto is to bring salvation, hope, healing, and peace of Christ to the Spanish-speaking world. Those in grades 9-12 are invited to join us from April 1 to April 8 as we are working near the Western Highlands in cities surrounding Lake Atitlan, Guatemala.  We'll have monthly meetings as we prepare as a team for our week in Guatemala. Registration is open now for current 12th grade students.

Children's Choir - 5:00pm to 6:00pm

Give your children the opportunity to explore their God-given gifts and talents among friends, and through fun and spiritually uplifting music.
*Children's Choir will not meet next week in honor of Thanksgiving. 
Wednesday Night Supper - 5:30pm to 6:30pm

Join your church family for a great night of fellowship and a home cooked meal prepared by our talented Kitchen Angels. 

Tonight's Meal:
Tonight's menu will include spaghetti served with garlic bread and salad bar. The kids' menu is the same.

*Tonight will be our last meal until the start of the new year.  Wednesday Night Suppers will resume on January 13. 

The 5th Grade Praise Team

Wednesdays from 6:30pm to 7:45pm 
     
The Praise Team is an amazing and fun leadership opportunity for all rising 5th graders. This high-energy team leads worship and serves as important role models for the younger grades. Practice on Wednesdays will include 30 minutes of devotional/leadership training and 45 minutes of intense worship fun! Team roles include on stage, backstage and audio visual assistants. 5th graders will be scheduled on a rotational basis to lead worship on the Rooftop during the 9:30am and 11:00am worship hours on Sunday mornings. 

 

 
Parents, you can relax and truly enjoy your Wednesday Night - CONNECT time knowing that downstairs your children are having a blast! Kids will love our new program What's in the Bible, an interactive series with video, music, activities and an awesome take home sheet.

*Tonight will be our last class before we break to celebrate Thanksgiving, Christmas and the New Year. Class will resume on January 13.
