HTAB is changing the face of Hamilton's Labour Market, one project at a time

We are excited to announce our four core projects for the upcoming year (April 1/11 to March 31/12).

Goods Movement Labour Market Research: What skills are needed by employers and what is the future demand in this sector?

Skills Assessment and Consultation with the Manufacturing Sector: We will identify the key manufacturing subsectors and create labour market information profiles.

Youth Attraction and Retention Strategy:  How can we attract youth to Hamilton for employment and retain those who attend Mohawk and McMaster?  Previous and current youth focused research and inititiatives will be reviewed and summarized.  Gaps and areas that require further development will be identified.

Immigrant Attraction and Retention Resource: What skills do recent immigrants to Hamilton have, and what skills are employers seeking? This project will consult with recent immigrants to discover what information would help them to understand our local labour market.

Like to partner with HTAB on one of our projects?  Please call Judy Travis at 905-521-5777 or contact by email: judy.travis@htab.ca

Help HTAB to access important data by completing the National Household Survey (NHS)

national household survey logoAre you are a member of the one in three households across Canada that has been asked to fill out the new NHS?  If so, HTAB encourages you to take the time to fill it out.  Statistics Canada data is vital to the Labour Market research and planning work that HTAB carries out.  The survey will provide data that is vital for planning services such as schools, daycare, police services and fire protection.  The NHS is needed to plan family services, housing, roads and public transportation, and skills training for employment.
