Florida has the nation's 3rd (third) largest rate of uninsured residents. And among Broward County's 1.9 million residents, 14.5% are uninsured.

Hispanic Unity of Florida's Te Ayudo program - supported by Florida Blue - targets low-income, uninsured and underinsured individuals and families particularly those within Hispanic and other minority populations in Broward County, regardless of age, socioeconomic status, race and ethnicity.

The program aims to maximize the community's health by ensuring access to comprehensive, patient-centered, coordinated and culturally appropriate services by educating uninsured and underinsured individuals on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and other health benefits, enrolling them in a Qualified Health Plan to establish a medical home for primary and preventative care. Clients not eligible for ACA are referred to other Community Health Centers - such as Memorial Healthcare System - for affordable coverage.

Congratulations UnidosUS (formerly NCLR)

Since 1968, UnidosUS has worked to build a stronger America by creating opportunities for Latinos. Three years ago, they embarked on an assessment of the NCLR brand in preparation for their 50th anniversary in 2018.

After months of listening to the Latino community and a thorough re-branding process with stakeholders, it became clear that the name UnidosUS more accurately reflected who they are as an organization and how they intend to evolve for the next 50 years. And the advent of their 50th anniversary felt like the right moment to introduce a new brand that reflected the richness of their work and vision for the future.

UnidosUS is the largest national Hispanic civil rights and advocacy organization in the United States; it works to improve opportunities for Hispanic Americans. HUF is one of nearly 300 affiliates of UnidosUS and received its Affiliate of the Year Award in 2016.
