So we don't know if you heard the news...but we secured THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE II (FINAL SEQUENCE) from IFC Films in October and in preparation for that insanity we are bringing back the original to get you ready for the Tom Six madness! We open THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE (FIRST SEQUENCE) on Friday!
This weekend 2 of our favorite local stores host FREE special events, be sure to check out DOGMA courtesy of Bookmans and learn more about fighting Censorship. Then ZIA Film Fest presents 2 or our favorite TROMA Classics on Saturday!

MEMBERS ONLY September 27
Members Only Screenings are one of the prime perks of becoming a member of The Royale. Programmed by the Valley's own Midnite Movie Mamacita, Andrea Beesley-Brown, Members Only began at Chandler Cinemas, showcasing cult gems like Roger Corman's Galaxy of Terror, Battlefield Baseball from Japan with Versus' Tak Sakaguchi, as well as upcoming sneak previews. The fun thing being all the titles are kept secret until the movie begins. A real treat for someone seeking out new films and camaraderie, as well as the best of world and indie genre cinema!

THE LAST CIRCUS September 16 - 29

THUNDER WARRIOR September 29
I Can Smell Your Brains Cinema Presents - Thunder Warrior When Thunder (played by Mark Gregory of 1990: Bronx Warrior) returns home to his village, he finds the local bank has financed a construction project right over his families sacred cemetery. Like John Rambo, Thunder is pushed around and forced to leave town. But he comes back and turns Page Arizona upside down with a bow, arrow, bazooka, and a better knowledge of the territory than the local cops. This is an entertaining Italian rip off of First Blood from 1983 directed by Fabrizio Di Angelis (Karate Warrior 1-6) and co stars Bo Svenson (The Delta Force, Inglorious Bastards). DOGMA September 30 & October 1
Bookmans Mesa is proud to present the fourth annual Fight Censorship Film Screening! Each year we pick a film that has been banned, challenged, or considered controversial.
With the religious theme of the film, Kevin Smith received several hundred thousands pieces of "hate mail" which he has posted on his website. About Dogma: Two mischievous angels who were laid off by God and are given the boot. Finding themselves banned to Wisconsin, they set out for New Jersey where they find a loophole that will allow them to re-enter heaven. The only problem is it will destroy humanity. An abortion clinic worker with a special heritage, a wisecracking 13th apostle, a stripper/muse, and mischievous mall rats Jay and Silent Bob band together to stop them. Join us on Friday, September 30th at 7pm for a Free screening of the film with a special guest introduction. We'll have exclusive Fight Censorship swag to give away to film attendees. Can't make it on Friday? We'll have an Encore screening on Saturday, October 1st sans introduction & giveaways.

THE HUMAN CENTIPEDE (FIRST SEQUENCE) September 30 - October 13
Two pretty but ditsy American girls are on a road trip through Europe. In Germany, they end up alone at night with a broken car in the woods. They search for help and find an isolated villa. The next day, they awaken to find themselves trapped in a terrifying makeshift basement hospital along with a Japanese man. An older German man identifies himself as a retired surgeon specialized in separating Siamese twins. However, his three "patients" are not about to be separated but joined together in a horrific operation. He plans to be the first person to connect people via their gastric systems. By doing so, he plans to bring to life his sick lifetime fantasy, the human centipede.
