HPP Clinical Scientist & Pathologist Travel Grant
Are you a clinical scientist or clinician, using or considering to use, proteomics for your research project? HPP is supporting five (5) clinician-scientists with a travel grant to attend the 2018 HUPO World Congress in Orlando, Florida, USA that will take place from September 30-October 4, 2018. With the launch of the HPP Pathology Resource Pillar at this year’s World Congress, the HPP offers up to two additional awards to encourage pathologists to apply. Deadline is June 30, 2018 . HUPO 2017 Interview Series: Perspectives in Proteomics
In 2017, eleven experts were interviewed in a series of videos titled Perspectives in Proteomics. The interview series was directed by Sanjeeva Srivastava and organized by volunteers of the Young Proteomics Investigators Club (YPIC), mentored by Mark Baker, Christopher Borchers and Stephen Pennington. We will be releasing two videos each month leading up to HUPO 2018. This month we're featuring interviews with Albert J. R. Heck, Emma Lundberg and Henry Rodriguez. The Human Proteome Project (HPP)
Getting down to details: disease-associated PTMs and proteoforms
Two Biology-Disease Human Proteome Project teams recently characterized critical post-translational modifications (PTMs) and the resulting proteoforms on cancer and cardiovascular disease. Read more.
C-HPP Wiki disseminates information on C-HPP activities
The Chromosome-Centric Human Proteome Project (C-HPP) plans to identify all elements of the human proteome, their proteoforms and determine their functions. C-HPP efforts are summarized as protein evidence status and functional and other annotations of human protein coding genes by neXtProt. Click here to read on.
New HPP Pathology Pillar will launch at HUPO 2018
The HUPO and HPP Executive Committees are pleased to announce that Pathology will join Mass Spectrometry, Antibodies and Knowledgebases as another pillar of the Human Proteome Project (HPP). The introduction of the Pathology Pillar acknowledges the key roles that pathology will play in the delivery of proteomics-driven biomarker discovery for clinically useful diagnostic assays. It also recognizes the fundamental importance of new proteomic assays for the on-going development of precision medicine. The Pathology Pillar will co-ordinate the identification of key unmet needs in clinical medicine, stimulate guidelines and standards for the development of fit-for-purpose validated clinical assays, promote awareness of best practice and coordinate access to bioresources of clinical samples with its associated data. It will also assist in HUPO’s expansion of partnerships with international pathology organizations, diagnostic industries and regulatory agencies. The HPP Pathology Pillar will be launched and highlighted in September at the HUPO2018 World Congress in Orlando, USA.

RCPA - Introduction to Proteomics and Pathology: Recordings now available online
November 2017, The Royal College of Pathologist of Australia hosted a course in collaboration with HUPO in order to support the education and professional development of laboratory professionals and scientific staff in the emerging field of proteomics and personalized medicine. The recorded presentations are now available online for a limited time, watch them here.
PROTEOMICS BOOTCAMP: Targeted Proteomics Workshop and International Symposium 2018
TPWIS was held at IIT, Bombay in February 2018. The event consisted of a variety of workshops including a 4-day workshop on Targeted Proteomics conducted by Brendan MacLean, a mass spectrometry workshop by Sanjeeva Srivastava and Interactomics-GIAN course by Joshua LaBaer. The workshops were followed by a Bollywood themed international symposium with 500+ participants. View the highlights here.
