2015 LAKE BURTON FUN RUN GREAT SUCCESS
"The Lake Burton Fun Run is a celebration of love for family, fitness,
patriotism, and the Lord blessing our community."
The rain stopped and the skies cleared early Saturday morning just in time for the 31st annual Lake Burton
Fun Run. With all the proceeds benefitting three Lake Burton Volunteer Fire Departments, Rabun Search
& Rescue and the Rabun Sheriff's Department Canine Division.1000 persons entered this year's race
and 89 volunteers helped to make the course safe and fun. The 2 mile course runs southbound along the
shores of beautiful Lake Burton on GA Hwy 197. Starting at the pavilion in Moccasin Creek State Park and
ending at LaPrade's Marina. The major sponsors are: Title sponsor - LaPrade's Marina, Presenting sponsor- Springer Mountain Farms, and Supporting Sponsors Georgia Power, Lake Burton Civic Association, and Action Awards. Many thanks to all sponsors, volunteers, and participants. . The Habersham Chamber of
Commerce was a vendor sponsor and manned a booth to promote its Hills of Habersham Bike Ride in the fall. The Chamber's tent attracted many visitors with a drawing for a child's bicycle. Children were excited as they
waived their flags and waited in suspense for the winning number.
